We already know the Los Angeles Rams are cooking up something to repeat their 2021 run. As the year began, Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp’s run ending with the LA Rams started to become inevitable. But more than his move to Seattle, him being cut from the California-based team made the headlines. With that, the offense for Sean McVay seems hit the shuffle mode. While everyone wondered what would be next for the WR room, Sean snagged Devante Adams in the free agency to play alongside their third-year standout Puka Nacua. But as the Draft Day approaches, the whispers of the Draft Day trade too grow loud.

In this scenario, we actually have caught a rumor that might have sparked a little 2 years back. That time, there were murmurs that the Atlanta Falcons just might trade their 2021 NFL Draft’s fourth overall pick Kyle Pitts. Evan Craig of Turf Show Times believed, “Pitts would be an intriguing piece for McVay’s offense and I’d expect LA would deploy him more in the red zone. I guarantee the tight end would have more than three measly touchdowns in Los Angeles under a more established offensive mind.”

Back then, the Falcons made him the highest-drafted tight end in history. But considering Pitts was playing second fiddle to veteran Jonnu Smith, the Florida alum, who was once expected to be a generational talent, was underutilized in the pack. Fast forward to now, on Friday, Pro Football and Sports Network released a list of veteran players that each team could trade in this off-season. While addressing the Atlanta Falcons, PFSN predicted that, much to everyone’s surprise, it won’t be Kirk Cousins for the Falcons, “Kirk Cousins is the name everyone will assume goes here.

“The Falcons could certainly move the $45 million per year quarterback, but a lack of urgency and leverage means there really isn’t any reason to expect a Cousins trade anytime soon. If the Falcons weren’t rivals with the Saints, the two would have made sense as trade partners in the wake of Derek Carr’s shoulder injury.” So, who do they have in their list instead? Kyle Pitts, who “could be an underrated trade asset.” Now how real can this get?

Pitts is playing out the fifth-year option on his rookie $32 million deal with Atlanta. Now, Falcons have WR Drake London’s upcoming contract extension to consider, considering London is about to enter the final year of his rookie deal after recording the best season of his career. On the flip side, Pitts didn’t really didn’t make a case in favor of himself as he managed to play under 40 snaps per game for the first time in his career, averaging a career-low 35.4 receiving yards per game. But these are simply rumors, and there’s always a counter argument to make.

If the deal does not materialize, Kyle, who is making $10.9-million guaranteed on his fifth-year option, could try to rebound for the Falcons would love nothing more than that. They might even be looking to give Pitts a higher payday next year. And if they do not want opt for a big commitment, they always have the franchise tag option that would pay him a ballpark $16.5 million guaranteed for 2026.

Why the Rams could be good news for Pitts? Pitts gets to reunite him with his former offensive coordinator, Dave Ragone, who is the quarterback coach of the Rams. All in all, if Kyle Pitts ends up in L.A., let’s just say Sean McVay’s got himself a whole Avengers lineup at receiver next season, especially after Devante Adams is already on the roster.

Devante Adams wants to play for Sean McVay’s Rams till retirement

Davante Adams had a rough one last season. The guy had been an ironman since 2021, never missed a game—until right before Week 3, when a shoulder injury sidelined him for a bit. A couple of games off, and boom—he wanted out. So, he dipped out of Vegas, reunited with his old buddy Aaron Rodgers in New York, and suited up for the Jets. Even after missing three games, the man still cooked—racked up over 1,000 yards for the fifth straight year like it was no big deal.

Fast forward, and after the Jets released him, the 32-year-old WR signed a two-year, $46 million deal with the Rams. And that’s where it gets pretty interesting. See, Adams spent most of his NFL career in Green Bay and had a brief stint in Vegas. However, according to agent Frank Bauer, who represents Adams, the guy wants to wrap up his career with the Rams. “He is where he wanted to finish out his great career,” Adams’ agent, Bauer, said, per Rapoport

The Californian played for Palo Alto High School, where he had 64 receptions for 1,094 yards and 12 TDs in his senior year. To top that off, the guy later went to college at Fresno State, about 225 miles north of L.A., and had a standout collegiate career before the Packers drafted him.

And now? Well, after spending half a season in New York, Devante Adams is finally heading home to California to play for Sean McVay’s Rams. Adams is expected to be the WR2 alongside Puka Nacua. After all, the team has parted ways with its veteran WR.
