It’s safe to say that the Ravens have locked the AFC top spot with the Jaguars‘ destruction. And the team has their aim set beyond the playoffs. One of their most important assets is wide receiver Rashod Bateman, who appeared for a post-game interview on the sidelines.

Bateman talked about the Ravens’ journey in the season and pointed out their goal. But rather than being happy or excited, Bateman sounded emotional while talking about his journey in the league. His interview even left veteran NFL insider Josina Anderson emotional.

Rashod Bateman gets emotional talking about his journey

NFLonCBS’s Anderson reached out to Bateman right after the game ended. She asked the wide receiver for his reaction after the Ravens secured their playoff berth. “It definitely feels amazing”, Bateman replied. “This team is special, so definitely feels special to get a win tonight”, the WR shared his appreciation for the Ravens.

But when Anderson asked him about his performance post the foot injury recovery, Bateman sounded emotional. “It definitely means a lot… I done come a long way.”

He further continued, “I’m still stacking days and weeks, so I’m excited for what’s to come.” At this point, the reporter asked the WR why was he getting emotional. In reply, Bateman said, “I love this game it’s my job I grew up playing in it.” Anderson even shared the clip, adding how she feels affectionate every time a player gets emotional talking about himself.

The WR further said that the team had only one goal: the Super Bowl, and every other team was just obstacles in their way.

Bateman reveals the Ravens’ target: The Super Bowl

When the reporter asked what was the team’s limit, and if there was any; Bateman had one simple thing to say: “Our eyes are on the Super Bowl right now. Everybody is on our way, So yeah, we just gotta keep stacking these wins”. Rashod’s words are a clear reflection of the team’s run in the season.

With the Jaguars’ win, the Ravens are the only AFC side with 11 wins, and the only side in the league with that record other than the 49ers. Despite Lamar Jackson not having a great display with just 171 yards, the team made light work of their AFC rivals. Which just proves the team’s all-around strength and defensive prowess, which could be effective if the offense doesn’t work out.
