The NFL is going through an interesting phase. One side is waiting for a comeback from their legend, whereas another side is preparing for a farewell. And the two have been interestingly interrelated with the turn of the situation recently. The entities in question are Jets‘ QB Aaron Rodgers and Patriots‘ legendary coach Bill Belichick.

But amid the speculations, Rodgers has become the target of a certain portion of the community. They want to believe that the QB was never even injured, and his entire recovery was staged. But his friend and show host Pat McAfee has answered back with a befitting reply to shut the absurd claims down.

Did Aaron Rodgers fake his injury?

Rodgers has been brought back into the active roster by the Jets, although both parties have confirmed that the QB won’t play again this season. But his recovery time has been too quick to believe for many, who have questioned if the 4x NFL MVP ever really got injured. In his show, McAfee mocked the speculations as well as served them the right answer.

“Why would you wait this long if you didn’t tear”, co-host and former NFL linebacker AJ Hawk threw the question at the right point. “Yeah, why would you wait until there’s 0% chance”, McAfee too defended Rodgers insisting the QB legitimately tore his Achilles and therefore had to remain outside while the Jets were losing one game after another in the season. Furthermore, McAfee tried explaining why Rodgers was brought back into the active roster despite not being scheduled to play.

He insisted that removing the QB from the active roster would by default place him in the IR, which means Rodgers would be prohibited from practice. He is gearing up for the next season already, so practice sessions with the Jets were necessary for him. But what if the QB was actually playing, especially their last game of the season against the Patriots?

Rodgers could potentially be the last QB vs Belichick

The Bill Belichick era is almost over at the Patriots, with almost every source is confirming that owner Robert Kraft has decided to part ways with the HC in 2024. If that is true, then the January 7 game could be the last of Belichick’s career unless another franchise jumps in to sign him. Similarly, the 4x NFL MVP could be his last career opponent, if he plays.

But as things stand, that isn’t happening. Instead, Zach Wilson may be the last QB the legendary head coach will face. Belichick, too, needs to rethink the idea of starting a new coaching role at the age of 71. For now, the week 17 game would mark the comeback and farewell of two legends the Gridiron has ever seen.

My story of becoming an NFL writer is as interesting as my story of becoming an MMA practitioner. Coming from such a sport where athletes look to knock the brain cells off each other for a living, I liked the aggression that American Football had to offer. Before I even realized it, I religiously started following American football, picking up the most challenging in-depth write-ups.
