Rudolph’s representatives recently met with the team, suggesting there are ongoing discussions about his future. Rudolph finished the year as the team’s starter even when Kenny Pickett was healthy enough to return from an injury, but he is set to be a free agent. While coach Mike Tomlin expressed confidence in Pickett, he also mentioned his openness to bringing in competition.

“I have full faith in Kenny Pickett,” Khan declared at the NFL scouting combine. “Obviously there were some issues with the offense, and I’m excited about the impact that Arthur Smith is going to have on him. I know Arthur’s very optimistic about Kenny, and I know they’ve communicated. And we’ll see where it goes. We feel really good about him.” This upheaval under center enhances the intrigue around Rudolph’s status.

Mason Rudolph trumps Russell Wilson in Steelers’ QB Drama

As if the intrigue surrounding Mason Rudolph wasn’t compelling enough, renowned NFL analyst Scott Ferrall has truly stoked the flames with an inflammatory claim. Appearing on his radio show, the longtime host declared: “Mason Rudolph is better than [Russell Wilson] now.”  This stunning proclamation has added another layer to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ pivotal quarterback decisions.

Ferrall, a Pittsburgh native, did not mince words in his criticism of the former Broncos star, stating, “I think he’s old and I think he’s living on past glories.” While Wilson undoubtedly possesses a far more decorated resume, the analyst’s take seeks to discredit the 35-year-old’s recent production and perceived decline.

On the other hand, Rudolph is nearly a decade younger and flashed potential at times. Ferrall is making the case that the local product may currently outperform the fading Wilson based on their respective trajectories and play.

As the Steelers finalize the structure of their quarterback room, this bold analysis from Ferrall demands serious consideration. While he stands alone in such an extreme stance for now, the ferocious debate over whether Rudolph or Wilson is the superior option has officially been stoked.
