After falling to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, the Los Angeles Rams hit the road for their Week 6 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. But just five minutes into the second quarter, they still hadn’t put a point on the board. And to make matters worse, the team is now dealing with a significant injury that could shake up their game plan.

Rams’ wide receiver Puka Nacua suffered what appeared to be a left leg injury. With ten minutes left in the second quarter, quarterback Matthew Stafford launched a dime on 2nd-and-11 toward the third-year receiver in the end zone. Nacua, on the other side, tried to haul it in for a touchdown but came down awkwardly and immediately grabbed his ankle.

Nacua had already hauled in 2 receptions for 28 yards when he attempted to catch a pass from his quarterback. However, the 24-year-old wideout collided hard in the air with the Ravens’ cornerback Marlon Humphrey. Both players went down on the turf, but while Humphrey quickly got to his feet, frustrated at missing the interception, the same couldn’t be said for the Rams’ receiver.
After the collision, Nacua immediately clutched his leg in pain as the trainers rushed in to evaluate the WR. He was later spotted heading into the locker room, clearly in need of help. While it was unclear earlier, the team has now confirmed that Nacua is questionable to return for what appears to be a foot injury.

For now, it’s too early to predict, sure. But Dr. Evan Jeffries now fears a high ankle sprain for Nacua, which could lead him to miss multiple weeks of the season. And that would be the last thing Stafford and his offense would want right now. In his absence, the veteran wideout, Davante Adams, is expected to step up as Stafford’s top target.

The Rams announced another injury besides Puka Nacua
At halftime, the Rams and Ravens are tied 3-3. But the way things are shaping up, Baltimore is clearly controlling the game. By the break, the Rams had only 102 total yards compared to the Ravens’ 140. The passing game showed some promise with 71 yards through the air. But the ground attack has been a different story.

The Ravens rushed for over 100 yards, while the Rams managed just 31 on the ground. To make matters trickier, Los Angeles has two key players listed as questionable to return, affecting both their passing and rushing options. Besides Puka Nacua’s foot injury in the second quarter, the running back, Blake Corum, exited the game with an ankle issue in the same quarter.
The Rams have confirmed that just like Nacua, Corum is also questionable to return. The RB rushed for 14 yards on 4 carries while complementing Kyren Williams in the rushing attack. In his absence, Jarquez Hunter will reportedly take over as the Rams’ RB2 until Corum’s return. Having said that, losing both Nacua and Corum has clearly put the Rams’ offense in a tough spot.
