The Ravens vs. 49ers game has lit up the MNF with viewership records on Christmas. The Ravens proved their worth by demolishing their NFC rivals 33-19. In a re-run of the Super Bowl in 2013, the game was meant to draw a record-breaking viewership. Fans were hopeful for the 49ers to win, and with Brock Purdy, they had a decent chance, but Lamar Jackson had other plans. Purdy produced the worst performance of the season, and Jackson scored two and did what he usually does.

The game ruled the MNF scene but still trailed behind the Chiefs vs. Eagles Super Bowl rematch, which took place a month ago. The AFC and NFC rivalries surely lead the charts for attracting the fanbase. Better late than never, these games have broken the long-standing records that included the likes of the Cowboys and the Packers.

They further informed the fans: “It was the 2nd-largest Monday Night Football audience in 27 years — trailing only Eagles-Chiefs in Week 11.” The Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl rematch on MNF got over 29 million views five weeks ago. That game was aired on ESPN and ESPN2 besides ABC and ESPN networks. 2023 is turning out to be the best season for the NFL in terms of viewership. It took 27 years to overtake the 1996 classic.

Who made the record 27 years ago?

The Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys held the viewership record (31.5 million) all this time. The two teams met in November at the Texas Stadium. The Dallas Cowboys won the game 21-6 in a proper beat-down given to the Super Bowl champs Green Bay Packers.
