Baseball. It’s something Future Zahir Wilburn has had for as long as he can remember. From wearing baseball jerseys as a newborn to being one of the best on the field even before he turned four, Ciara Wilson has documented her son’s love for the game through the years. It was just a year ago that Future hit his first home run. And as Ciara expressed her pride from the sidelines, Russell Wilson was just as proud of his stepson. “Proud dad moment,” he wrote. And recently, he got another dad moment to celebrate!

For the newly-minted Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, success extends far beyond the gridiron. Wilson’s recent Instagram post showcasing a playful moment with his kids while having a “blast at picture day” offers a heartwarming glimpse into his role as a devoted father figure. The image, featuring Future and Wilson’s son Win donning Pittsburgh Pirates jerseys, captures the pure joy and camaraderie shared between the trio.

In the caption, Wilson’s words radiate pride and gratitude. He wrote, “My Two Boys are Ballers! Future hit 3 Homers Today & Win & him had a blast at Picture day! God is good! Thankful I get to raise & teach em how to be Boys and become Men. God is Good!” This underscores Wilson’s commitment to guiding and nurturing the young men in his life.

Wilson’s genuine embrace of fatherhood is a testament to his character off the field. His ability to find joy in the simplest of moments, like a picture day outing, showcases the depth of his paternal bond. The blooming click showcases Wilson and the kids beaming at the camera, clearly having enjoyed their time together, bonding and growing.

Back in 2019, the singer told Access Hollywood that her hubby’s commitment to her eldest son is what melts her heart. “You know my husband’s pretty awesome. It’s been an incredible journey watching him not only loving me, but loving my son,” she said. And as for Ciara – if her pitch-side activities are anything to go by – there are few things she loves more than being an “annoying baseball mom.”

Back in 2022, after a Little League game that Future presumable won (owing to his “Yes! Come on!” reaction on Ciara’s story), his mother asked him for a team picture. The then-eight-year-old, donning a San Francisco Giants jersey, was clearly annoyed by that request. But Ciara didn’t budge. Instead, she said, “You can’t get no snow cone,” and laughed. That seemed to trouble the young baseball player even more, making him shout, “Stop!” Posting the entire exchange on her Instagram story, Ciara wrote, “I’m that annoying baseball mom😂🥰❤️”

Russell Wilson and Ciara’s relationship is a real-life modern family fairytale. The power couple met in 2015 and tied the knot just a year later in a castle in England. Despite coming from different worlds – he’s a football star, she’s a Grammy-winning artist – together, they are navigating the highs and lows of life. While the picture with his boys showcases a connection between the Wilson family and baseball, the quarterback’s love for this dynamic sport started way before.

Russell Wilson and his “first love,” baseball

While football made Russ a household name, he also has some serious baseball chops. The former Minor Leaguer in the Rockies system recently got to live out his Field of Dreams at Pittsburgh’s PNC Park. He fired a strike for the ceremonial first pitch and even took some hacks during Pirates batting practice.

The 8-time Pro Bowler seemed right at home on the diamond, joking around with All-Star Andrew McCutchen about suiting up for kick return duties. “The one & only [McCutchen] and [Cordarrelle Patterson] on the new Kick Off Returns!??” Wilson quipped on X.
