Put the Chicago Bears O-line on the table this season and their definition will go like this: a complete mess, with inconsistency all over the place. It’s pretty hurting for the Bears fans, isn’t it? Well, ask Caleb Williams about the offense. It would turn out that the rookie is even more hurt. Not to blame him, but that’s the whole story of the Chicago team this year.

Given the Bears are almost at the bottom when it comes to total yards per game, there is no doubt that their roster requires a solid update. No wonder the team sits at 4-11 despite the rookie’s notable performance and Ryan Clark couldn’t agree more. “Think about this late-in-the-game sort of malfunction and the dysfunction of what this offense is,” Clark declared on ESPN. “There isn’t a structure around Caleb that lifts him up in the places where he needs to learn, places where he needs to get better.”

Honestly, Clark makes some solid points. The Bears’ offensive structure indeed affected Williams’ gameplay. Sure, the wideout, DJ Moore, has a standout season as the guy’s tallied nearly 900 yards so far. However, Moore himself confirmed his lack of chemistry with the QB, Williams. On top of that, no doubt the wide receiver is targeted less than what the fans have expected.

On the flip side, Williams isn’t getting some solid support from the rookie, Rome Odunze. The 22-year-old wideout ranked sixth among the rookies for total yards and struggled with a low catch rate of around 55.7%. But here’s the kicker: you can’t overshadow the head coach’s concerns with all these offensive line dramas, can you? And not to forget that the QB himself is looking for better coaching to maximize his potential.

“For me, it’s about getting a coach that can work in synergy with Caleb Williams and allowing him to grow,” Clark further said on the head coach issues the Bears are facing after Matt Eberflus was fired.

Caleb Williams is ready to take the heat

The Chicago team is done with the year with one more game sparing in this embarrassing season. Speaking of that, let’s talk about the Bears’ brutal loss to the SeahawksIt was like watching a train wreck in slow motion! Seriously, that 3-6 loss wasn’t on the NFL bucket list for the Bears’ fans at the end of the year.

Highlight of the game? Well, the QB got sacked 7 times. Pretty wild, huh? However, Williams is all ready to take the heat for this disastrous loss to what many will define as a poor offensive execution. “I will say that I’ll definitely take the heat for this one, just ’cause of some situations that I put us in’,” Williams stated. I believe he’s talking about the sacks, right?

“Like I said, that sack that I took, that I didn’t need to take, which put us—we were empty, and I brought a guy from the boundary. Just throw it over the guy’s head and you’re still playing,” the rookie QB clarified. Besides that embarrassing struggle with sacks, Williams also threw an interception near the end of the game. Talk about a ‘sack’ of issues.

All this considered, it isn’t just the O-line that’s struggling; the Bears are riddled with a bunch of issues. Starting from but not limited to coaching deficiency. Well, if rumors to believe, the Super Bowl winning coach, Pete Carroll, is in talks to join the Bears for the vacant head coach post. Now, it’s a matter of time before Caleb Williams will hopefully get what he desires.
