While joining the Jets ahead of the current season, the QB brought a few connections with him to the franchise. The former Packers’ pack promised a lot upon their arrival, but a certain part of the NFL community believes the names have been constantly dropping stinkers and are among the worst in their respective positions. This was all visible when NFL Memes shared a Rodger-centric post

Netizens slam Aaron Rodgers for the underperforming squad

When Rodgers joined the Jets days before the NFL 2023 draft, he brought 5 former Packers’ connections with him. They were defensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, wide receiver Allen Lazard, wide receiver Randall Cobb offensive tackle Billy Turner, and quarterback Tim Boyle. A few months later, former Vikings Running Back Dalvin Cook joined the team under Rodgers’ influence.

But the season has proven to be a lackluster for the Jets. And each of these names has mostly failed in their respective duties. One X (formerly, Twitter) account found the pattern and poked fun at Aaron Rodgers.

Fellow netizens in the comments had their reactions too. One doubled down on the narrative raised by the Tweet.

One tried to imagine how the Jets fans must have been feeling at the moment.

One refrained from the fun and jokes and went onto the technical side of things.

And one found an uncanny connection with Tom Brady‘s Buccaneers career, just exactly opposite of Rodgers.

But the players themselves possess somewhat a different feeling to Aaron Rodgers. Some of them are still overwhelmed with having Rodgers as a teammate.

Aaron Rodgers’ ship still hasn’t sunk at the Jets

In reality, the respect hasn’t gone down a bit for Rodgers as he continues to guide the Jets from the sidelines. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson is star-struck by Rodgers’ presence. “It takes a little time just to realize. Still probably hasn’t sunk in all the way until I caught the first ball from him. That’s a legend right there,”  the QB expressed his excitement. “We know what we have in this room. We’ve known what we’ve had in this room”, he further continued. “I’d be lying if I said that we had someone of Aaron Rodgers.”

Linebacker Quincy Williams had his own fan moment meeting the QB. “I ain’t gonna lie to ya, I was kinda star-struck at first because we warm up right next to each other,” he told the reporters. The talking point of the moment, Dalvin Cook earlier feels the same too talking about Rodgers. “He doesn’t have to recruit; his game recruits itself. Aaron is Aaron. If you don’t want to be part of something like that, I don’t know what you want in football”, the running back said on his first day as a Jets member back in August.

Defensive Rookie of the Year 2022 Sauce Gardner has enjoyed his moment with the QB as well. “When it comes to playing in New York, you just got to tell yourself, I’m built for this. Me and Aaron, we just caught ourselves yesterday telling each other, like, I’m built for this.” The cornerback liked to hype himself up and not let emotions take over when practicing with Rodgers.

Clearly, the fans and pundits will always find something to criticise but the teammates have welcomed him like a king. That indicates that good time is still ahead in Rodgers’ Jets career. Added that with speculations of his comeback, the reactions on social media might well change drastically within a matter of weeks. Rodgers is definitely taking his notes!
