The Pittsburgh Steelers are really loving what they’re seeing from Aaron Rodgers this season, and who could blame them? Despite Aaron Rodgers having said that the 2025 NFL season would be his last, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler is reporting that the Steelers are already trying to talk him into coming back for another year.

The Steelers’ decision to bring back Rodgers as their quarterback for another season is no fluke, but a step taken after the team has carefully analyzed Rodgers’ performance for the team this season.

Also, Mike Tomlin has praised and thanked Rodgers for this season’s performance. Speaking to the press, he said:
“He loves it, so he loves the process. He loves to talk ball. He loves to educate his teammates to get on the same page. He’s excellent in terms of seeking a resolution to the issues. There are just a lot of good things about him, other than his physical talent and skill.”

Rodgers joined the team as a one-year rental. But their 4-2 start has changed everything. At 41, he’s still slinging it like a pro, throwing for 1,270 yards, 14 touchdowns, and just 5 picks. His 105.0 passer rating says it all. He’s far from done.
If you dig through his past interviews, he’s been teasing this for a while. He even joked about playing in Dublin again next season. Ultimately, the call is his. But if Rodgers does hang it up, Steelers legend Bill Cowher already has a replacement in mind for Mike Tomlin’s next challenge — Joe Flacco.

Aaron Rodgers wants to make history with his Sunday game against the Green Bay Packers
Sunday’s showdown between the Steelers and Packers isn’t just another late-season clash. It’s Aaron Rodgers’ shot at NFL immortality. So far Rodgers has beaten 31 of 32 teams. The only one left? The Green Bay Packers. The team where he spent 18 unforgettable years, won four MVPs, and lifted a Lombardi Trophy.
A victory for the Steelers would allow Rodgers to join an ultra-elite group of signal-callers who have defeated every team in the league. As CBS Sports’ John Breech noted:
“If Rodgers can lead the Steelers to a win over Green Bay, he’ll join Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre as the only quarterbacks in NFL history who have beaten all 32 teams. It’s among the most exclusive clubs that a quarterback can join, and Rodgers could have his membership by the end of Sunday night.”
The challenge is personal and historic. This contest against the team that defined his prime years marks a “full-circle moment” in one of the league’s most decorated careers. It is a testament to Rodgers’s exceptional success and remarkable longevity that he is even in a position to achieve this specific, historic milestone late in his decorated career, placing the ultimate punctuation mark on a Hall of Fame résumé.
