But in today’s day and age, the Super Bowl isn’t merely a game, it’s a celebration! And the ticket prices for Super Bowl LVIII reflect that. Starting from $5,000 and soaring up to over $100,000. This steep increase over the 5 decades shows how much this matchup has overtaken the American imagination. But what was this game referred to if not Super Bowl?

The game of football wasn’t as popular as it is today. And with two separate leagues within the country competing for viewership, it made no sense to be in each other’s way. Hence, both leagues before merging in 1970, started to play their best teams against each other for the ultimate game of the season.
Before being known as the Super Bowl, this game was known as the ‘AFL-NFL World Championship Game’. But the media and the public kept referring to it as the Super Bowl. Hence, in its third edition, it was named the Super Bowl III.
