Ferrante Edmonds has always been the quiet force behind Travis Hunter‘s rise. But let’s be honest—none of it came easily. She’s spoken before about how moving the family from Florida to Georgia wasn’t just about changing zip codes; it was a leap of faith—all in on Travis. She’s called him her ‘biggest blessing,’ flipping what many saw as a gamble into a story of grit and belief.

And with her, it’s never just been talk. That faith? It’s paid off—big time. Now that Travis is officially NFL-bound, you can see just how far they’ve come. Remember when he surprised her with a house in Savannah? She was floored. “Y’all got me good,” she said, totally caught off guard. And even now, as everything gets bigger, she’s still out there, sharing what it really took to get here.

Whether sharing a message on her IG about the people just seeing the first-round pick and not the hard work behind Hunter’s grind, or her appearance on the “Prime Parents Live” show, she’s been candid while sharing her son’s upbringing. And now? Well, Travis Hunter’s mom is gearing up to appear on Lunch Time Live with UNK & CHICO.

Edmonds recently took to her IG handle and announced that she’ll be appearing on the first episode of Lunch Time Live with UNK & CHICO. If you’ve ever tuned into UNK & CHICO Live, you know it’s not your typical sports talk show. Hosted by the dynamic duo, the show is a staple on YouTube’s Thee Pregame Network.

Their main gig? To offer unfiltered takes (especially on college football), non-stop laughs, and real talk as they break down the latest in sports and culture. Whether discussing Shedeur Sanders’ prank call or exclusive look at Coach Prime’s Colorado Spring Game, these guys are everywhere. And now? They’ll be interviewing Travis Hunter’s mom on their first episode.

And what could be the best time for her to give an interview to UNK & CHICO, considering Travis is reportedly eyeing a $46.5 million rookie deal?

Travis Hunter to ink over $46.5 million deal

Travis Hunter just ended Colorado’s 14-year drought when the Jacksonville Jaguars snagged the receiver/cornerback in the first round with the second overall pick. Safe to say, the guy didn’t have to wait much longer to hear his name called in the Green Room. Now that the 2025 NFL Draft is officially in the books, all eyes are on how much Travis Hunter is set to make on his rookie deal.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Ferrante Edmonds spill any secrets about Travis Hunter on UNK & CHICO's new show?

Have an interesting take?

According to early projections from Spotrac, Hunter could sign a four-year, $46.5 million contract with the Jaguars. That includes a $30.5 million signing bonus and an average annual salary of $11.6 million. For now, the figures are based on a projected rookie contract model, using comparisons from past drafts and current market adjustments.

Since Hunter will play two positions for the Jags, he could very well earn more. He just tied the highest draft pick in Colorado history, matching Bo Matthews, who went No. 2 overall to the Chargers in 1974. He also became just the fourth CU player to crack the top five. The others?

Byron White, who went No. 4 in 1938, and Michael Westbrook, also taken at No. 4 in 1995. Hunter now joins some pretty elite company. So don’t be surprised if he pulls in more than that projected $46.5 million rookie deal.
