The Kansas City Chiefs just turned up the hype for the 2024 NFL Draft. Their scouting team dropped a YouTube video breaking down some of their top potential targets, and the franchise’s fans are eating it up like BBQ at Arrowhead.

In the clip, Senior Reporter Matt McMullen peels back the curtain on three names generating serious buzz: offensive tackle Jordan Morgan, cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr., and wide receiver Ladd McConkey. It’s must-see TV for any Chiefs Kingdom member dreaming of a three-peat.

McMullen starts by analyzing Morgan, a 6’5″ 311-lb mauler from Arizona. He was a straight-up bouncer in pass pro last year, allowing just 14 pressures on nearly 500 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. With elite traits like fast feet and a wrestling background, Morgan could be Patrick Mahomes‘ new bodyguard.

But the Chiefs know defense still wins championships. That’s where Rakestraw Jr. enters the picture, with McMullen praising his “sticky” man coverage skills. The Missouri product may be undersized, but he’s got the length, physicality, and “always on” motor to neutralize any receiver’s release game.

Lastly, McConkey is the human cheat code from Georgia’s receiving corps. Combining blazing 4.39 speed with insane quickness and route-running savvy, he profiles as the ultimate YAC monster. McMullen calls him a bona fide “slot ninja” with a game to take the top off defenses, too.

With the 32nd overall pick, the Chiefs have options. But if this YouTube preview is any indication, they’re homing in on targets that could make them unstoppable… yet again!

How the Chiefs’ 2024 picks could shape NFL history

The Kansas City Chiefs are the big dogs of the NFL right now. But staying on top is way harder than getting there. With seven draft picks this year, including #32 overall, the Chiefs have a prime chance to load up on young talent to keep their championship window open.

Brett Veach, the Chiefs’ GM, knows they have to keep restocking the shelves. Star players like JuJu Smith-Schuster and Orlando Brown Jr. already had to walk this offseason because of salary cap issues. Nailing these draft picks is more important than ever.

That’s where studs like Morgan, Rakestraw Jr., and McConkey come in. Morgan could lock down the O-line for years with his size and athleticism. Then you got Rakestraw Jr., a “junkyard dog” who jams receivers at the line and makes QBs sweat, per scouting reports. He’d be a menace in Steve Spagnuolo’s aggressive defense. And don’t sleep on McConkey. Just imagining him and Mahomes together is giving fans chills.

But the Chiefs’ search goes beyond just Xs and Os; they want dawgs with that championship mentality. Nailing picks like these is how you build a real dynasty, not just a one-hit wonder. Kansas City is set up beautifully to run it back… and back… and back again. With their loaded core and a few more home run draft picks, they could stamp their name in the history books before you can say “Red Kingdom Reloaded.”
