It’s not every day you see an NFL MVP swap his cleats for racing stripes. Patrick Mahomes, alongside his wife Brittany, made a splash in the racing world, not on the track, but in the high-stakes game of team ownership. The quarterback’s latest play? Joining the elite ranks of Alpine F1 Team owners.

His casual stroll into the team’s hospitality suite alongside Brittany wearing a cute orange dress —caught on video—was a far cry from Mahomes‘ usual stadium sprints, yet it signaled a new race had begun. “I’ve always had a passion for all sports. The opportunity to lead the investor group with Travis at Alpine F1 with Otro Capital was one I couldn’t pass up,” Mahomes shared last October when he became part of a group of athletes who joined the F1 team’s ownership group, along with teammate Travis Kelce.

Mahomes’ sky-blue hoodie might be a nod to his new team colors.  The video reshared by Mahomes captioned “QUALI DONE, BACK TO HOSPITALITY,”. Meanwhile, a snapshot of Mahomes and Shane Buechele delving into the tech behind the speed teases the quarterback’s hands-on approach. “Boys being boys,” as captioned by Shane’s wife.  “I think everybody can see the appeal,” Mahomes said, reflecting on his involvement with the F1 team.
