The Kansas City Chiefs made easy work of the Denver Broncos in the NFL match Week Six game. Except for the fourth quarter, the Broncos couldn’t set foot in the game and their defense largely remained unorganized. But being a perfectionist, captain Patrick Mahomes wants nothing short of the best from the team and himself. That’s why he was caught possibly having a frustrated reaction with himself after one particular incident.

The league’s worst defense show managed to interrupt one of Mahomes’ throws in the second quarter. Following that, the quarterback threw off his helmet in disappointment at halftime.

A disappointed Patrick Mahomes throws off his helmet

The moment occurred at the beginning of the halftime break. The Chiefs were absolutely dominant in the half, scoring ten points in the run. Mahomes threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to WR Kadarius Toney, and kicker Harrison Butker accounted for 3 more points with a field goal. But despite the scoreline, one of Mahomes’ throws aimed at WR Skyy Moore was intercepted by Broncos safety Kareem Jackson with just over 1 minute remaining in the clock. It didn’t sit well with the quarterback.

While going back to the dressing room, Mahomes threw off his helmet towards one of the officials at halftime, with a blunt reactionless face. The moment went viral, and one X (formerly, Twitter) account shared the clip on the platform.

The reaction was understandable from the quarterback, as it was his second interrupted throw of the game… a rare occurrence in the last few years, and that too against some of the worst defense performances in the league this season.

Although coming back, the Chiefs didn’t have much to worry about as the lead was too big to fumble, and despite their short-lived fight in the fourth, the game was all but over for the Broncos. Is it the end of Sean Payton’s Broncos career? Only time will tell.
