The New Heights podcast, hosted by Football brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, has well and truly reached the ‘heights’. Since it claimed the Spotify sports podcast chart’s number-one spot a few months ago, it hasn’t moved on. Their first cross-sport collaboration with an NBA legend seems possible now, given that the podcast has made waves in the American sports community, including Basketball. Now the waves have found their way to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar

Lebron James.

King James teased the idea a week ago in a tweet, revealing his desire to join the brothers for a conversation. Now, addressing the same, both the Kelce brothers have highlighted the tweet in the podcast but with a little bit of sarcasm.

Lebron James’ ever-awaited presence on the podcast

In a recent podcast episode, acknowledging the tweet of interest by Lebron James, Travis, and Jason Kelce explained how it is the Football brothers who showed their interest in the NBA superstar’s appearance on the show first. Jason Kelce revealed the fact with a sarcastic take on how James is acting like he only realized their intentions recently.

“LeBron knows, we’ve been trying to get him on the show for a while. I know he’s acting like he’s just coming on now but we’ve been trying to get him up here. There’s no way we haven’t sent LeBron James the invite, you know”, the brothers had an open confession about LeBron James.

Their comments seemed like a clear indication of their admiration for the basketball icon, with the Chiefs’ star recalling his childhood admiration for James.

“King James has been number one for a long time. Listen, LeBron you’re welcome, whenever you want to come on brother”, Jason went on. “Please, we will make it happen”, Travis doubled down.

James’s presence on the show doesn’t seem to be a far cry with both parties seemingly excited, and it is going to get some people talking, for sure. Historically, sports podcasts with entities from different sports have always been popular, and with the NBA legend’s massive following it will crack some big numbers. But can James match the vibe Aaron Rodgers created when he appeared in Joe Rogan’s podcast last year’s August?

Back when A-Rod lightened up the JRE

In episode 1865 of the Joe Rogan Experience last year, the martial artist hosted a special guest. Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers showed up and the two had an open conversation about life outside the field, the epidemic, and a few other interesting topics. The quarterback even detailed how his perspective on the media and his close people changed after his COVID-19 diagnosis.

While it’s likely that LeBron James could make an appearance at the New Heights pretty soon, the Kelce brothers have to be pretty specific with the conversation. The Lakers star is known to be one of the smartest ballers around and not as soft-spoken as Rodgers. The collaboration could be an instant banger for so many reasons and could be the first of its kind in a potential series.

With that, how intrigued are you to see how the episode of LeBron James’ presence on the Kelce brothers’ show will pave out to be? Let us know in the comments.
