There have been multiple athletes who’ve tried their luck in a different sport after retiring. Some players who have been blessed with the advantages of size do tend to try out combat sports. From Brock Lesnar to Rob Gronkowski, several renowned athletes have tried their hand at combat sports. While Lesnar shifted from WWE to MMA, Gronk recently announced that he will also try the same sport. Whenever a player with tremendous physical prowess appears on the scene, there is always speculation as to what they could do at the highest level. However, recently, an ex-NFL player’s attempt at trying out another sport didn’t go as expected.

Kellen Heard, the ex-NFL player, earlier made a statement that he could take on 10 boxers at once and win. Let’s find out what happened when he eventually got into the ring with one pro-boxer.

The ex-NFL star’s attempt at boxing
The former Los Angeles Rams player, who played as a defensive tackle, weighs 339 lbs and stands at 6 feet and 6 inches. His stature would be enough to scare any ordinary person. Heard recently claimed that he could take on 10 Mexican boxers. He then went on to have a tussle with just one Mexican fighter and the result caught the attention of the NFL fans.

The ex-NFL player had an intense yet short spar with a boxer. He tried to take him on but eventually ended up tiring himself out. He then had to tap out and take a break.

Interestingly, the video is a far cry from Heard’s promise of taking out 10 boxers. Furthermore, the fans didn’t spare him in the comments after he failed to fulfill his claim.

As the video went viral, fans took to Twitter to comment on Heard’s tussle with a pro-boxer who was almost half his size.

Furthermore, there were comments on how boxing requires stamina.

All in all, fans weren’t very empathetic after the ex-NFL player’s statement about boxers. The video also showcased how there is a huge difference between the two sports and the skills they require.

As the video went viral, fans were convinced of the predictable outcome. It only remains to be seen if Heard will again get into the ring and if it’ll yield a different result.
