Penei Sewell will enter the NFL as the most dominant offensive linesman of his draft class. After playing out his college career with the Oregon Ducks, the 6’6″, 325 lbs offensive tackle is a force to reckon with.
Considered to be head and shoulders ahead of his competition, the offensive tackle of American-Samoan descent is looking to make his mark in the NFL.

Penei Sewell as dominant as ever in college
Beginning his playing career with the Oregon Ducks as a true freshman in 2018, the 4-star recruit from Saint George, Utah became a Freshman All-American.
While 2018 was just the start Sewell needed, 2019 is when the offensive tackle truly burst onto the scene. Sewell played left tackle for the Ducks and did not concede a single sack in over 926 snaps.

What’s even crazier is that in his 2 seasons with the Ducks, the tackle allowed just one sack in over 1,376 snaps.
Over that span, the tackle also allowed just 7 pressures and 2 hits on the QB. For his massive frame, the he has exceptional agility and quickness.
Starting from holding off the pass rush to run blocking, the offensive tackle did everything just right to be named a unanimous All-American.
Sewell’s performances also won him the Outland Trophy in 2019. The left tackle was also awarded the Morris Trophy for being the best offensive lineman in the Pac-1 back in the same season.
Sewell decided to sit out the 2020 season due to concerns surrounding the pandemic. He focused on preparing for the draft instead.

An elite run-blocker with the ability to negate the pass rush, for Penei Sewell, the sky is the limit. A number of NFL franchises have been keeping a close eye on the tackle.
Among them are the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals had drafted QB Joe Burrow with the 1st overall pick in 2020. But the team soon lost its rookie QB midway through the season due to an ACL injury.

Thus to better protect their asset under center, it would be a wise move for the franchise to draft Penei Sewell in the upcoming draft.
