Haas F1 team tested two new members for their pit stop crew. Although only provisionally. NFL’s duo of JJ Watt and TJ Watt visited the Miami Grand Prix circuit and spent time at the Haas paddock. A tiny step toward making Formula 1 more relevant and popular among the American audience, a market F1 is penetrating slowly and gradually.

Drive to Survive built an audience for Formula 1 in the USA. And the show is also doing everything to attract more attention to the sport. And no better way to get the biggest stars from an exclusive American sport to the F1 paddocks. That is exactly what the Haas paddock did with JJ Watt and TJ Watt ahead of the Miami Grand Prix race.

“Whatever team Guenther Steiner is principal of, I’m a fan. Massive thank you to Guenther, KMag, Mick, Stu & everyone in the Haas garage for the hospitality and letting us test our pit stop skills. We may not fit in the car, but we can lift the damn thing. Can’t wait for Sunday,” said JJ Watt on his Twitter.

Despite Falling Ratings and Increasing Criticism, Netflix’s Drive to Survive Bringing Fans in Bulk

The Arizona Cardinals star thanked Haas’s boss, Steiner, Magnussen, and Mick Schumacher for the visit. Again pushing the Formula 1 popularity envelope to his fans. And we’re sure they won’t be the last NFL (among other) stars to show up at the Miami Grand Prix.

Can we soon get a second American F1 team after Haas?

Michael Andretti led F1 team might soon become a reality. “He said he’s in support in the process. There’s still a long way to go. But it’s nice, Mohammed liked what we presented. I don’t want to say too much, they don’t want to talk about it too much. But positive thingsm” said Andretti after his meeting with the president, Mohammed bin Sulayem.

This is a second attempt from Andretti after the acquisition of Alfa Romeo fell through last year. The traveling circus is a global sport and is getting a lot of attention from potential investors. The attractiveness of the sport, coupled with its current popularity, is definitely showing.
