After Tom Brady, there is a new player on the block with his eyes on the NFL GOAT’s Super Bowl bling. The Kansas City Chiefs’ 28-year-old quarterback, Patrick Mahomes is not content with the accolades he has achieved. Even after excelling in Hall of Fame contention, Mahomes has now fixated his sight on the ultimate prize of Brady’s seven Super Bowl rings.

Mahomes’ next plan involves Tom Brady’s record

After a detailed discussion on how Mahomes is following Brady’s blueprint for restructuring contracts, Dan Patrick then enlightens viewers about the young quarterback’s next goal. Talking about Mahomes, Patrick commented, “So Mahomes is competing with Tom Brady that’s what this is now he’s already a Hall of Famer and now you want to see if you can get to Seven Super Bowls how do you get to Seven Super Bowls”.

On that note, in the 2022 season, Mahomes earned the prestigious league MVP award with an impressive 5,250 passing yards along with 41 touchdown passes. At just 27 years old, the City Chiefs quarterback claimed two regular-season MVP awards and lifted two Lombardi Trophies. Additionally, with a remarkable 15-3 overall playoff record, Mahomes had been able to surpass Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning’s postseason win total. Refusing to be content with these accolades, his next step is to pursue Tom Brady’s Super Bowl legacy, which brings into account their distinctive playing styles.

Celebrating diversity in quarterbacking

Since Brady’s style is a throwback to yesteryear; he used to drop back in the pocket to survey the field. Since going through progressions before zipping a pass to the open man, has been considered outdated, current quarterbacks like Mahomes have a different style. A few days ago, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety, Mike Edwards took the initiative to contrast the legendary Brady and the young talent, Mahomes.

According to Edwards, “Pat likes to get around, be mobilized, get out of the pocket and extend plays. That works for him. He’s got a lot of playmakers on his side of the ball and they like to run deep and extend plays.” On the other hand, “Tom is kind of different. He likes to stay in the pocket, pick apart the defense, exploit the safety and things like that. They’re kind of two different styles, but they’re two great quarterbacks. Two of the best in the league.”

At age 28, Mahomes has a total of three Super Bowl victories under his name. Now that Brady and Mahomes are head-to-head with 3 Super Bowl titles, it is time for the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback to achieve a strike of seven.
