The ‘IT’ couple of the NFL has sparked a ton of opinions till now. However, Robert Kraft’s might be the most hard-hitting one thus far. Kraft, being a fan of Rob Gronkowski was no secret and neither was his preference for Gronk as a tight end over Travis Kelce. So, when his opinion on Kelce’s girlfriend came out, the shock was comparatively less among the fans.

Kraft’s longstanding relationship with Swift, which dates back to 15 years when he predicted Swift’s talent to ‘fill up stadiums one day’ when she was a budding musician, prompted him to present a strong opinion on her relationship with Chiefs‘ tight-end. When he met Swift at the latest Patriots-Chiefs games, he had nothing but sweet memories and one complaint from Swift: that she made the wrong choice in his footballer boyfriend. Kraft believed that the Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski would be a better fit for her than Kelce. “Except maybe she should have been dating Gronk,” unabashedly said Kraft.

The reason for it: “He’s better looking,” Kraft added jokingly. It was not only Gronk’s praise but a hilarious jibe at Kelce as well. The cheeky sense of humor made by the remark made it an instant fan-favorite. However, Kraft also believed that given the following Swift has garnered now, selling out stadiums through her famous Eras Tour, her dating Gronk would have boosted the Patriots’ popularity to another level.

“I think she’s increased the fan approval for young women, which we want, but she’s been smart because she is also getting male fans to come to her music. I just think it’s the quality of the product and the parity and what the NFL presents. Our ratings this year were the highest for about seven, eight years and you look at the playoff games. It was phenomenal,” Kraft said, taking great pride in Swift’s legacy.

Robert Kraft reminisces about his and Taylor Swift’s relationship

A lesser-known fact about Kraft and Swift was Kraft was one of the first Taylor Swift fans, as well as one who attended Swift’s first concert. The Patriots’ owner remembers the date like yesterday as it was his birthday. Hence, he made sure to make her remember the full circle she had achieved in her life, giving her a wholesome souvenir during their last meet.

Taylor, her first stadium concert was on my birthday in 2010, June 5th. So when she came to view the Chiefs play the Patriots this year at Gillette, I gave her a framed ticket from that concert June 5, 201o,” Kraft said. Moreover, Kraft realizes the impact Swift has on the NFL, as she has not also sold out stadiums for her concerts but made the Chiefs game with her presence jam-packed.
