Patrick Mahomes and his team have once again etched their names in the NFL history as the Super Bowl 58 Champions. They made a comeback from what seemed an impossible parity between their score and the 49ers’ score after the first half. Analysts across the world are applauding him for it. Skip Bayless, however, has some warnings for him for the next season, especially for Mahomes, as this is his golden chance to get a 3-peat if he and his team successfully make it to the Super Bowl 2025.

Bayless issued more of a warning to Mahomes to consider before he starts preparing for the next season. Bayless named Joe Borrow Mahomes’ nemesis if he can play in the next season. Bayless only gave a “40% chance to 3-peat”, especially if “Joe Burrow stays healthy they can take down the Chiefs. Just like Mahomes has the Niners number, Burrow has his number.”

Burrow didn’t get a chance to boast his skills this season because of his injury, which not only set him back records-wise but also set his franchise back. The Bengals QB had to conclude his 2023 season quite early because of the torn ligament in his wrist. After the reports of his successful surgery were released in December, fans were at ease after months of worrying about his injury trickling into the next season. After the surgery, the recovery time for the torn ligament is reported to be around 4-6 months per Cincy Jungle. Hence, it would be safe to assume that Burrow would be up and running for the July training sessions.

The Chiefs already won Super Bowl 57 against the Eagles, with a 38-35 score. This season, the Chiefs won over the 49ers with a 25-22 score. Hence, the Chiefs have always won some thrilling cutting-edge Super Bowl battles. Even if it boils down to a showdown between the Bengals and Chiefs, safe to say it would be an equally cutting-edge one. However, Joe Burrow is not the only threat looming above the Chiefs’ shot at the Super Bowl.

Jim Harbaugh and Co. another threat to Mahomes

When it comes to Joe Burrow, Mahomes can anticipate his moves to an extent, as he has seen him play. However, for Mahomes, Jim Harbaugh as an NFL coach is a new entry and therefore tougher to anticipate.

Along with this, Harbaugh already comes in with a steely Super Bowl dream, which was left unfulfilled years back. Hence, the Chargers should also be on the watchlist of Patrick Mahomes, as they might not face them in the Super Bowl because of being in the same conference, but can surely come face-to-face in the AFC Championships.
