Tom Brady seems to be the headline this season. While he continues to make the news with his spawned-out ventures, Patrick Mahomes, the prodigious QB of the Kansas City Chiefs is garnering major attention, especially after his post-season win against Buffalo Bills, making his path clear for his sixth AFC championship, and possibly his third SB ring. All of it was possible because of his team, mainly his equally talented TE Travis Kelce.
In the recent cutting edge, 27-24 win against Josh Allen and Co, the 22-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce made the game in favor of the Chiefs. Since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting QB in 2018, and the Chiefs have not missed going into the AFC Championship game since. Along the way, Kelce and Mahomes formed an unbreakable duo, so much so that they overtook Brady and Gronkowski’s post-season touchdown record by scoring 16 touchdowns in post-season.

Brady couldn’t help but appreciate his record being broken by who is considered the modern-day ‘Gronk-Brady duo’. The GOAT took up to his X account to give Kelce-Mahomes the ultimate shout-out. “BEASTS. When you one up Gronk you’re doing something right,” said he. Seems that Patrick Mahomes is well aware of having the right tight end by his side.
This is why they could turn the tide in the initial Bills-dominated game with a massive 22-yard pass from QB Mahomes to Kelce. The suit continued in the third quarter, where Kelce scored another 3-yard pass from Mahomes. Without any doubt, the game will be etched in the books of franchise history. Even Coach Andy Reid tipped his cap post-win at the Orchard Park. “Patrick and Kelce with the record they broke there with Gronk and Tom, that was a great job there,” said he.

Tom Brady-Rob Gronkowski record
Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s term together at Tampa Bay Buccaneers was some of the best in the history of the NFL. The duo played 22 post-season games together for both the Patriots and the Buccs, during which they scored a total of 15 touchdowns. Super Bowl LV in 2020 marked a special occasion for Brady and Gronk, as this win was for Kelce-Mahomes, as they broke the record of 12 post-season touchdowns that was tied previously to Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.

Along with this, Brady became the only QB to have scored the most post-season touchdowns: 14 in 2020. Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, has 38 touchdown passes in his 16 postseason games, easily surpassing Brady’s record. Moreover, it only took 16 games for Mahomes-Kelce to break the Brady-Gronk record as well. The only question: Will Mahomes break the ‘most-rings’ record of Brady as well? Only time will tell.
