Patrick Mahomes has made it to the headlines by being the harbinger of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 25-22 victory in the Super Bowl. With this win, Mahomes added fuel to the fire about the ongoing debate looming around him, solidifying his status as one of the NFL’s premier quarterbacks. And there is no other entity that immediately comes into view in this case, other than Tom Brady.

It is at such a point in time that former NFL wide receiver Michael Irvin steps in offering a provocative stance. However, Skip Bayless backs up Brady over Mahomes, drawing parallels to statistical comparisons between the two quarterbacks.

As the speculations about Mahomes breaking Brady’s record have gained momentum, Irvin pointed out that Mahomes seems to be a more visually appealing quarterback than Brady. Moved by his comment, Bayless enters the debate sharing his opinion on Twitter. Here comes Bayless’ stance on Irvin’s prediction about Mahomes having a better future as compared to Brady, “Brady beat him twice-AFC Ch at KC, Super Bowl. Mahomes stunk in that SBowl. Brady never stunk in an SBowl, averaging 304 passing yards.”

Through this tweet, Bayless intended that Mahomes fails to transcend beyond the mere aesthetics. He further points out that the ultimate measure of quarterback greatness often lies in the tangible results and in this case, Brady still rules by emerging victorious in head-to-head encounters. To further establish his point, Bayless mentions how Brady had taken over Mahomes first in the AFC Championship at Kansas City Chiefs and then in a Super Bowl showdown.
