Per NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Patriots and their long companion, Bill Belichick, ultimately reached a stage of denouement following 24 iconic seasons and the league’s highest six SB wins. “Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are expected to part ways today after a remarkable 24 seasons together, ending an unmatched run in NFL history that included six Super Bowl titles,” announced Schefter. Truly, the end of a legendary league for the Patriots. While the rumors about Belichick and the Patriots’ parting ways were intensifying by the day, the suddenness of the announcement made it too quick to process. All along, Tom Brady’s positive affirmations throughout the rumors had the fan’s hopes hanging by a thread.

Mayo played for the Patriots from 2008 to 2014 and has been an assistant under Belichick since 2019.
