This season holds a special place for the Los Angeles Chargers. As the coaching maestro, Jim Harbaugh, has embarked on a journey to create a dynasty akin to the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots, here are some tips for the new Chargers head coach. NFL analyst Mike Florio delves into an in-depth analysis of the three key points on the show NFL on NBC that Harbaugh must adhere to. With this, he will be able to achieve sustained success and prove his dominance in the league.

Dominating own division is the key to success

The fundamental pillar of building a football dynasty is establishing supremacy within your division. Florio says, “One of the ingredients that’s allowed the Chiefs to be so dominant in recent years is they have more than dominated their division. That’s what helped the Patriots.” Over the past three seasons, the Chiefs have been undefeated and have won all but two divisional contests in AFC West titles. Similarly, in 21 seasons, the New England Patriots have won 16 AFC East titles.

Further elaborating, Florio asserts, “You have a a group of teams where you’re clearly the best and you run rough shot over them you pump up your record you put yourself in better position number one to make the playoffs.”

Seeking home-field advantage

Florio then draws attention to the importance of home grounds in postseason plays as he states, “Number two to play postseason games at home and to win those games.” For football teams vying for postseason success, home-field advantage plays a crucial role through playoffs. Playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd backed up by the comforts of familiar surroundings maximizes chances of victory. According to records, New England has won 14 of 18 home playoff games.

Strategic matchup management is of great value when navigating through the treacherous waters of the postseason. As familiarity reduces the chances of surprise, Florio left a piece of advice for Harbaugh.

He says, “I think those are always the most dangerous teams in a single elimination setting because they know you they’re not intimidated by you they would relish nothing more than the opportunity to pop the balloon.” Following Florio’s instruction, Harbaugh can capitalize on psychological advantage by facing opponents who might not be accustomed to his team’s playing styles.
