Playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd backed up by the comforts of familiar surroundings maximizes chances of victory. According to records, New England has won 14 of 18 home playoff games. 

Avoiding divisional foes in the postseason

Strategic matchup management is of great value when navigating through the treacherous waters of the postseason. As familiarity reduces the chances of surprise, Florio left a piece of advice for Harbaugh.

He says, “I think those are always the most dangerous teams in a single elimination setting because they know you they’re not intimidated by you they would relish nothing more than the opportunity to pop the balloon.” Following Florio’s instruction, Harbaugh can capitalize on psychological advantage by facing opponents who might not be accustomed to his team’s playing styles.
