Bidding a farewell is never easy. It was something that the Denver Broncos earnestly resonated with on the death anniversary of one of their most celebrated wide receivers, who passed away on 9th December 2021. With heavy hearts and tear-laden eyes, the Broncos team members paid their tribute to a legend on 12th December 2021.

Not only did they play against the Lions in a 38-10 win, but they made sure to commemorate Demaryius Thomas, the late four-time All-Pro throughout the day. Staring right from a memorial service outside the stadium, a tribute video, the pre-game moment of silence, to painting Thomas’s jersey number on the field. Today, the team revisits the tragedy.

Broncos still believe in Demaryius Thomas’s supremacy

As today marks the second death anniversary of Demaryius Thomas, his former team, the Denver Broncos is remembering him. Sending away the purest prayer for him, the Broncos took to their social media to mourn the loss. May that smile & joy never fade. Today — and always — we remember Demaryius Thomas.” 

The WR committed 8 seasons of his NFL career to the Broncos, even aiding the team to win the Super Bowl in 2015. Fans also remembered the legend for his stupendous performance throughout the years with the Broncos and later with the Patriots, Texans, and Jets. With the spot of Thomas forever in each Broncos fan, they also shared their heartfelt prayers, leaving many teary-eyed.

Just six months after he retired from football, he faced fate. The reason for Thomas’s death was posthumously declared complications with seizures at the age of 33. Later, doctors concluded with the prognosis of Thomas having Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, a degenerative brain disease that results in repeated head hits, something that could have led to his seizures. Thomas’s driver found him lying in the shower in his home, according to Bobby Thomas, Demaryius’s father.

Thomas had a history of headaches, something that became more and more prominent in his final years of life, which later converted to paranoia and memory loss. “Because that’s my main thing, just trying to find self and put out love,” were the words of him from his retirement video.

Demaryius Thomas can now rest in peace, as his fans put out ample love remembering him today.
