Bill Belichick, the coach for the New England Patriots, draws comparisons between Brady and Josh Allen. The 71-year-old has been one of the best coaches in the sport for decades now and has seen many players come up. In his recent statement, he compared the generational talent of Josh Allen to one of the best players of all time, Tom Brady, and talked about the uncanny similarities between them.

Tom Brady retired from professional football in February and has since been focusing on a laid-back life away from the gridiron. But he still keeps up with the game and all the players’ performances. And in a recent interview with Allen, he advised him to play a bit more safely to avoid tackles. Though Allen paid great heed to what the 7-time Super Bowl winner had to say, he ultimately ended up respectfully disagreeing with his words and telling him that he’d continue to play his way. Yet, Belichick has drawn several similarities between the two players, even though they disagree on their playing styles.

Josh Allen is rightfully one of the best quarterbacks this season, and a lot of the fans are calling him the next Brady of the NFL. While he hasn’t had the best records since his draft in 2018, he’s now the franchise quarterback for the Buffalo Bills as he continues to dominate on the field.

Comparing him to Brady, Belichick stated, “It’s kind of like Brady. Once Brady got to a certain point there in 2003, that’s pretty much what he was for the rest of his career. I wasn’t like that in ‘02, wasn’t like that in ’01, and certainly wasn’t like that in 2000. But once he got to a certain point there about the midseason of the ’03 season, and then in the playoffs and from then on, his level of performance and play and consistency were at the very top of the league. Allen has a different style of play, obviously, but once those quarterbacks get to that point, they’re able to sustain it. Sometimes, you don’t know what the growth pattern’s going to be.” Thus, it is evident that Allen’s on his way to being the next greatest player of our generation who might fill in Brady’s mighty big shoes. While Belichick has high praise for the youngster, he will be preparing his team well for the upcoming match between the Patriots and the Bills.

Josh Allen lost his first three games against the Patriots. Additionally, he won five of his next six games against Belichick, with only one loss occurring in 2021 when the terrible weather conditions made it tough for the Bills. However, the Patriots won over the Bills this season, with Mac Jones being the major factor. But now that the match is being prepared for New Year’s Eve, Jones is benched, and the Patriots will not have a lot of defense against Allen. Furthermore, Belichick will need to win this game and the others to ensure that his team has a chance to make it to the national championship.
