“Imagine getting a front-row seat of your favorite player,” was the immediate response of Chandler Jones when he first met Tom Brady. Flustered but inspired would be the perfect phrase to describe his condition at that moment. Chander Jones, the free agent defensive back, has been a witness to several incidents during his NFL career, some good and some not so good.

However, the one he reminisces about the most is his very first meeting with the GOAT. During the 2010s, Brady was cherishing the golden years of his career, as well as of the franchise. Hence, each new player added to the roster had a massive shoe to fill: becoming like Brady. Arguably, nobody has neared the jaw-dropping statistics of the GOAT. However, rarely anyone could confidently poise as efficiently of a leader as Brady. Brady’s steely mindset and his bespoke leadership skills were what made him an inspiration for his teammates, as Jones confirms.

Jones was selected by the Patriots as a first-round pick in 2012. Since then, it has been a roller coaster for him. Well, the very first adrenaline rush on his enthralling journey came when he first met Tom Brady on the practicing grounds of the Patriots.“Tom came up to me and said, ‘Hey Chandler Jones, pleasure to have you on the team’. Soon as he walked away from me, I called my mom and dad and said ‘F**k S**t Tom Brady knows my name'”, confessed Jones.

From his confession, Brady’s attitude towards his co-players during his reign, even if they were rookies, is evident. While his introductory conversation might have come as an intimidating move for the new-to-the-league players, his inherent leader only wanted to keep the team functioning as a unit. However, that didn’t stop him from putting his best foot forward in each game, even when it required some secret techniques.
