Injuries are the predominant challenge for the NFL teams this year and their primary targets are the QBs. This has not only prompted the NFL teams to have as many as 22 backup QBs but also injected a wave of uncertainty into the season due to the frequent injuries of players, QBs especially. Ian Rapoport, the NFL Insider, released a report for week 14, highlighting the precariousness of four of the teams in the league.

The four teams, the Cleveland Browns, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New Orleans Saints, and the Seattle Seahawks, have one shared despondency, their injured QBs trotting through their treatment with precarious return dates. As the league is rapidly moving towards the cusp of playoffs deciding week, the teams are perturbed about the QB’s injuries wagering their chances at the playoffs.

Pat McAfee cheers the QBs as they make a comeback

The injured QBs are well aware of the corollaries. Hence, they maneuvered their way through the treatment process and committed to performing for their teams, despite all odds. Saints QB Derek Carr suffered a rib cartilage fracture. Even though he has cleared the NFL concussion protocol, his rib fracture and AC tear in his shoulder stand tall. Still, Carr will play. McAfee could not be more surprised, as he cheekily commented about the QB having supersonic healing abilities. “Derek Carr continues to have Wolverine healing abilities,” exclaimed McAfee.

Speaking of healing abilities, Trevor Lawrence is surely mustering some serious ones. The Jaguars QB sprained his high ankle, damaging the ligament that connects the tibia and fibula. Being on limited practice, Lawrence is ‘looking far better than anticipated’ to Rapoport. Yet his pending AM evaluation will decide his fate against the Browns. Pat McAfee brought his cheerful spirit to Lawrence as well, calling him “an absolute beast.”

Apt to say, the Browns are in a slightly better condition than the Jaguars ahead of the clash. Joe Flacco, who was awaiting a chance to be back on the field post-injury, is all set to start Sunday’s game. Until now, backup QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson started the game. McAfee had some capital-lettered uplifting message for the QB. “Joe Flacco is BACK BACK.”

Along with all these, the Seattle Seahawks star QB Geno Smith’s return is uncertain. Smith tweaked his groin during a practice session and is still in recovery. Despite Smith not being ruled out yet, his backup QB Drew Lock is preparing to start the game, a pivotal step for the Seahawks in week 14. Fans will await Pat McAfee’s cheerful message for Smith when he makes a comeback.
