In the last two years, Greg Olsen carved out his niche as a prominent member of fox’s No.1 broadcast team. Channeling his knack for broadcasting, his broadcast drew nearly 57 million viewers on Sunday, Jan 28. With this, it became the fourth-most watched in the FOX’s history of non-Super Bowl telecast. 

However, the recent shake-up at FOX Sports witnessed the NFL GOAT, Tom Brady stepping into the broadcasting shoes that once belonged to the NFL tight-end. Instead of succumbing to the change, Olsen remains resolute in his quest to be a top-tier broadcaster.

Olsen added a unique dimension to the broadcasting experience through his articulate communication of analytical and general football concepts backed up by his enthusiasm. However, despite his successful stint, the former Carolina Panthers tight end might be heading toward an offseason demotion. The reason is the looming entry of Brady into broadcasting. In this regard during his recent appearance at the Dan Patrick Show, Olsen gave insight into the situation he is in, “I am at this stage of my career of where I want to go and I think all we understand the delicate situation that we’re in right. I understand when Tom Brady’s looming over your shoulder it’s the biggest news in sports. I get it, he’s Tom Brady. He’s someone I’ve respected for damn 20 years”.

Having taken a year off post-retirement to recharge himself, Brady has signed a staggering $375 million deal with FOX. This deal has offered the former quarterback to be the lead analyst of the channel and he is all set to join FOX’s top team alongside play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt.

Even though Brady taking up Olsen’s spot has disturbed the FOX Sports’ broadcasting lineup, it failed to deter Olsen’s determination. To note, instead of dwelling on the factors beyond his control, the former tight-end emphasized his commitment to reclaim the spot. During the interview, his opinion reverberated with optimism as he claimed, “My goal is to be a top broadcaster again and I’m going to do everything to achieve that”.

In the first place, his focus is not solely on air, as he channels his focus and talent, aiming to call top games.
