When Jason Kelce retired, we figured his body might finally catch a break. But instead of getting pancaked on the line, the man’s now risking a different kind of fourth-and-long — the kind that hits you in the gut… literally. His latest opponent? Philly’s rising hot chicken scene. And this one comes with no game plan, just napkins.

The ex-Eagles center. His JD never required him to be fit. So, he did what he wanted even during his playing years. McDonald’s? No issues. Buffalo Wild Wings? Heck, yeah! Beers? Um, let’s forget we even asked that. So, obviously, he was going wham on these meals in the post-retirement era.

His latest run? An order from one of Philly’s hot culture uplifters. Jason posted a picture of his order from Asad’s Hot Chicken with the caption, “What am I in store for?” That’s when a fan hit him with a Hall of Fam of responses: “A different type of tush push on the toilet.” No filter. But that’s the truth. What else do you expect from the restaurant chain that’s known for having customized levels of spice on the chicken? Yeah, you can go in and test your palette… And your gut!

Kelce’s reply? “Haha, no doubt.” Too casual? But hey, the man’s been through double teams. He can handle some spicy feedback. Um, no! This isn’t just a random food run. Philly’s hot chicken scene has been cooking since 2022, that’s not us claiming that. The Inquirer wrote it in their article in 2024: ‘How hot is Philly’s Hot Chicken scene?’

They wrote that Asad’s Hot Chicken, the OG of the Northeast corner, is basically the Mahomes of local bird joints. Their spice levels range from ‘Oh, this is nice’ to ‘Call the medics.’ And the lines? Longer than the Eagles’ IR list last season. Now, with Kelce showing love, it’s clear this trend isn’t cooling down anytime soon. Asad’s even crowned him “Philly’s MVP” and offered free meals for a year. That’s the Brotherly love.

As for his order, well, even the New Heights social media handle posted the screenshot of Jason’s interaction with the fan and asked the burning (quite literally) question. “Jason Kelce vs. Asad’s hot chicken. Who ya got?,” the caption read. Given the latest Philly trends, it shouldn’t surprise us if Jason’s bow down to the spice. But that’s without taking away the fact that Jason Kelce loves his meals!

Jason Kelce’s guilty pleasure? Fried chicken at a gas station!

When you think of NFL veterans, you picture strict diets, protein shakes, and someone yelling “clean eating” in the background. But Jason Kelce? He’s cut from a different cloth — more like grease-stained napkins than meal-prep Tupperware. And his recent trip to New Orleans only added fuel (and hot sauce) to the legend.

While in town for Super Bowl LIX, Jason didn’t just show up — he toured. Not stadiums. Not bars. We’re talking po’boys, beignets, and chicken from a literal gas station. “I f—— love that city, man,” he said on New Heights. “The perfect vibe, food, mentality, culture.” The man sounded more emotional over New Orleans cuisine than most players do after a playoff loss.

And you know he had to hit the OG — Café du Monde. Beignets, powdered sugar everywhere, “vibe” intact. But the moment that really stuck? A listener suggested Key’s — a service station in Uptown — for a real, local food experience. Most folks might’ve scrolled past. Jason said, “Yeah, I’m going to check it out.” Gas station chicken? That’s Kelce’s version of a trick play.

The guy crushed a juicy, spiced-just-right chicken breast, a “phenomenal” hot sausage po’boy, and chased it down with Big Shot pineapple soda. Why? Because the man lives like he blocks — bold, off-script, and all in. “There’s something about food being served at a gas station,” he said. You’re not hearing that from Tom Brady, that’s for sure.

But here’s the kicker — this isn’t new. Kelce’s always had a laid-back approach to food. “You just drink a bunch of beers,” he once joked about his routine. “As long as I’m in shape going into camp, everything will kind of figure itself out.” That’s been Jason’s mantra throughout: Just vibes, workouts, and fried chicken served with a side of Philly toughness. Try messing with that combo.
