Victor Wembanyama, the rising star from France, is basking in success. His journey was remarkable when the legendary NFL player Tom Brady endorsed him. The 20-year-old, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs, shattered all expectations on Monday, May 6, when he was crowned the NBA Rookie of the Year.

This was enough for the TB12 to spare some time and share his words of praise about the basketball phenom on X. Brady’s four-word statement was enough to prove “Wemby’s” greatness. Not many know this is the same Victor Wembanyama who tested the legendary quarterback’s skills not in any sport but in Photoshop.

Brady showers praise on Wembanyama

Wembanyama, at just 20, beat the other two finalists, Brandon Miller of the Charlotte Hornets and Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder, to be at the top. More importantly, Wemby became the first player in NBA history to win a record of 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, and 100 triples in a single season. This was enough to woo the owner of seven Super Bowl rings. Brady re-shared the video posted by Fanatics, congratulating Wembanyama for his latest accomplishment. Being a man of fewer words, the TB12 in the caption chose only four words to express his emotions for the Rookie of the Year, “Legend in the making. @wemby.”

Lately, Tom Terrific has shown interest in learning about basketball. The newfound love has been so strong that it led the quarterback to try his hands in making a basket. All credit goes to his son. Meanwhile, earlier, Brady also gave a shoutout to Wembanyama, followed by a twist.

Wembanyama left Brady to question himself

Can you imagine Brady coming under pressure because of the rookie Wembanyama? Yes, you read that right; such was the situation last year in November. The pressure has been so much that it led the TB12 to seek the help of Photoshop. While sharing a snap with the professional basketball player, 6′ 4″ Brady adopted a funny caption. The NFL GOAT wrote, “Awesome to meet you @wemby. Incredible young man. Usually, I’d make some joke here about how I think I could get 10 and 10 against you, but let’s be real… you’d send my jumper into the club level”.

On carefully scrutinizing the picture where Brady and Wembanyama are standing side by side, the TB12’s head is slightly above Wemby’s shoulders. Banking on this, the former quarterback chose to pass a joke and posted a clearly photoshopped version of the picture on X, with him and Wembanyama appearing to be the same height. Brady’s caption, “Media outlets asking for permission to use this photo. Yes you may, here is the file. Disregard other photoshopped images of me and Victor,” left the fans in stitches.

Now that Brady and Wembanyama have known each other long, fans eagerly wait for some Brady-Wemby action on the court. This will add another feather to Brady’s cap after football and golf, helping him with a breakthrough with an NBA stalwart.
