The thrilling intersection between the entertainment and basketball industries now has a third competitor, which is football. The PGA Tour just got a makeover with the unexpected alliances between entertainment and sports collided. While LeBron James and Drake are enthusiastically endorsing the $ 3 billion golf venture, they were joined by former NFL quarterback, Johnny Manziel.

Back in January, the collaboration between Fenway Sports Group and Strategic Sports Group gave birth to the creation of PGA Tour Enterprises. This venture has been set to redefine the relationship between players and James-Drake’s business side of golf. The project has amassed a financial commitment of up to $ 3 billion from the two legends.

Manziel gives a shoutout to LBJ & Drake’s investment

As the news of the multimillion investment venture spread, the former Cleveland Brown’s quarterback, Manziel expressed his enthusiasm endorsing the move through an Instagram story. Re-sharing a post from “Hypegolf”, the caption that followed was “Golf is the key”.

LeBron James and Drake have collaborated in investments in areas beyond their professional field in the past as well. In 2022, the duo invested in A.C.Milan, the Italian soccer club besides being RedBird Capital Partners and holding ownership of the New York Yankees. However, this was the time, Manziel took the charge to commend the investment that exposed his long-lost interest in golf.

He claimed, “I’m giving myself 12 years to try and play professional golf. I’m going to grind this out and see how good I can get and see if I can’t enter in some tournaments.” Known for his football prowess at Texas A&M and his brief stint in the NFL, after bidding adieu to football he made Scottsdale, the mecca of golf, his next abode. 

Manziel’s interest in golf also led him to invest in “Cactus Hack”, a brand that sells that sells golf merchandise. However, this time he stays away from investing by not pairing up with LeBron James and Drake but ensures to take initiative so that their efforts do not go to waste.
