Jason Kelce was gearing up for a blistering broadcasting debut on September 9, but he made a crucial mistake. Ahead of his first appearance on ESPN’s Monday Night Football Countdown, he forgot to bring his travel bag. The result? A 277 lbs Kelce trying to squeeze into a button-down shirt that looked like it shrunk in the wash. While that scene’s as hilarious as it gets, the first words he uttered on the spot sent fans into a frenzy. Even Taylor Swift was unable to contain her laughter at the slip-up.

The hilarious incident occurred ahead of the San Francisco 49ers’ 32-19 victory over the New York Jets on Week 1, when longtime ESPN host Scott Van Pelt introduced the Philadelphia Eagles star. While he mentioned Kelce’s accolades and accomplishments, Pelt also added, “Jason Kelce is wearing a shirt he got at the mall ‘cus he left his travel bag in the truck!”

“It fits my belly now, I’ve lost a little weight, but my t-ts are still struggling,” Kelce quipped, eliciting a string of laughter from co-hosts Ryan Clark and Marc Spears—all decked up in suits. It also meme fest, with Kelce’s wife Kylie also joining the bandwagon.

As Kelce will be once again return to the ESPN table, this time at Lincoln Financial Field for the Eagles vs Falcons match-up, a worried and Kylie didn’t forget to remind her husband about some important details.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, she shared a family photo with her Jason and their three kids, writing, “Training camp looked a little different this year. Watching you at the Linc on Monday is going to be a little different too. Just know that the girls and I are loving cheering you on in this new chapter!”

She also mentioned her husband’s slip-up and jabbed, “… Maybe try not to say t-ts this week?”

The Kelce family’s transition from field to booth has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. After 13 seasons as the Eagles’ stalwart center, Jason hung up his cleats in March, only to trade them for a microphone. This Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons isn’t just any old matchup for Jason. It’s a homecoming of sorts, albeit with a twist.

Instead of crouching over the ball and snapping it to Jalen Hurts, he’ll be next door at the parking lot of Xfinity Live!, breaking down plays and likely dropping a few pearls of Kelce wisdom. The atmosphere at the Linc promises to be electric. As Jason himself told SportsRadio 94 WIP, “It has the potential to really be very raucous. Nick Foles is coming back. I think Fletch (Fletcher Cox) might be coming back. Philadelphia fans are gonna be really fired up.”

We’re sure it’s going to be an electric night, especially with the Eagles honoring Super Bowl hero Nick Foles at halftime. But did you know Kelce’s hilarious joke had Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift “dying” of laughter?

Travis pokes fun at his brother’s wardrobe mishap!

On Wednesday, as the two brothers sat down for the latest instalment of their New Heights podcast. The Kansas City Chiefs star appreciated his brother for the “great quote” and quipped, “Those buttons were holding on by a thread.”

The football tight end also revealed, “Me and Taylor were watching that, absolutely dying laughing at it,” Travis shared on their “New Heights” podcast. “It was the perfect thing to open everybody up to what they were gonna experience for the next 18 weeks [of the season].”

But don’t let the antics fool you. When it came time for analysis, Jason proved he was not just there for laughs. His breakdown of the San Francisco 49ers game against the New York Jets showed he’s got the chops to back up the charm.

As fans gear up for Monday night’s game, they’re not just tuning in for football – they’re tuning in for the Jason Kelce show. And if Kylie’s Instagram post is any indication, it’s going to be a touchdown of a performance, wardrobe malfunctions and all.
