The latest report by Don Vatta Jr. and Seth Wickersham provided shocking revelations unveiling the covert operations conducted by the New England Patriots. The timeline focused on none other than the infamous Spygate scandal.

The scandal transpired on September 9, 2007, and involved the Patriots in an illegal action of videotaping the New York Jets’ defensive coach’s signals. The latest Apple TV+ docuseries, ‘The Dynasty: New England Patriots’ shows how Bill Belichick was being held responsible for the illicit move as he continues to defend himself.

In the latest docuseries, the 2007 interview when Belichick was put under question has been attached. It shows when confronted, Belichick initially refused to reveal anything about the incident and rather resorted to a secretive stance, That’s all in the past and I’ve made my comments on that.”

When further questioned about his move making a difference between winning and losing, he justified himself by claiming, “Again you can get those same signals sitting up in the press box and writing down what the signal is and what the play was and doing it that way. Those signals are available to anybody who wants to see them.”

Patriots’ video assistant Matt Estrella was caught filming the Jets’ signals, and Belichick was fined $500,000 while the team had to pay $250,000 as remuneration. Per reports, several teams suspected the Patriots of stealing signs ever after videotaping was prohibited in any form by the NFL, ultimately the coach acknowledged the wrongdoing. Following his departure, the team appointed Jerod Mayo as the 15th coach. With this, the 37-year-old became the youngest to assume the head coach role in the NFL. One notable shift under Mayo’s leadership is the expansion of the coaching staff. Contrary to Belichick’s favor towards a lean coaching structure, the new coach focused on building a more extensive team of assistants.
