Back in ’94, FOX straight-up poached the NFL from CBS, and with it came Terry Bradshaw—the four-time Super Bowl champ turned TV wild card. He’s been the loudest, funniest voice on “FOX NFL Sunday” ever since. The man’s been there from Day 1, chopping it up with Howie, Jimmy, and the crew. Thirty seasons deep, and somehow still yelling just as loud about quarterbacks missing reads and defenses blowing coverages.
But when Jimmy Johnson hung up his cleats earlier this year, the “Is Terry next?” chatter got real loud. Folks figured that both of the NFL legends are from the same era—maybe Bradshaw’s packing it up, too. To make it more obvious, Terry’s had health scares, even revealed he beat two cancers, and gained weight as well.
“I ended up getting um um rheumatoid arthritis and so they put me on steroids… so I put on so much weight and I got big and I just I couldn’t get it off,” he said before losing nearly 50 pounds. The whispers turned into headlines. Retirement rumors weren’t just floating—they were practically booked and confirmed on social media. But Terry wasn’t paying any attention to those rumors.

In fact, the Steelers‘ legend confirmed that he’s in no mood to retire. Not so soon. Even though he’s 76. Last month, while chatting on Fox 32 Chicago, Lou Canellis asked Terry about his retirement. “At the Super Bowl, I know that you told a few people that you talked to your wife about retirement. How much longer do you think you’ll work here on Fox?” Canellis asked.
At first, Terry hit him with Billy Graham’s (the late American evangelist) quote, stating, “You know, Billy Graham said, ‘The minute you retire is the day you start dying.'” Classic Terry. Bradshaw surely knows how to choose words wisely. But then he confirmed that he isn’t quitting anything. “I’m not going to quit singing. I’m not going to quit giving lectures. Um, I’m not going to stop the horse business,” he continued.
“My contract with FOX is for two more years and I know I’m going to work for two more. If FOX wants me around for the next Super Bowl [the next time FOX will air the event] which is four years, If I could, I would probably stay four more years, and I’d be 80, and that’s enough. And two more years might be enough.” For the time being, Bradshaw has two years remaining on his contract with Fox, which is set to run through the 2026 season.
However, since Fox just covered Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, they won’t be up for the big game again until 2029. If Fox wants Terry to be part of that Super Bowl, he’d need to stick around for another two years after his current contract ends. That’d put him at 80 by then. Now, let’s be real—if there’s anyone who can still bring the energy at 80, it’s Terry Bradshaw.
But let’s not forget that Terry’s been through some severe health concerns. So at this point, it’s too early to say if Terry would be covering the next big event. But one thing’s for sure: he isn’t going anywhere for the next couple of years. After all, the 76-year-old NFL legend is enjoying his life to the fullest.

Terry Bradshaw plans to visit Normandy
After hanging up his cleats from the NFL over four decades ago, Terry Bradshaw has smoothly transitioned from a four-time Super Bowl champion to Fox analyst, no doubt. But if you’re thinking that the Steelers’ legend has been limited to just his Fox gig—think again. In fact, the man’s out there experimenting with every single thing. Singing? Check. Giving lectures at university? Absolutely. Horse business? You name it. The man’s everywhere.
However, now that he’s in the twilight of his career, the 76-year-old NFL legend is enjoying his life. And get this, Terry is out there planning to visit Europe, something he used to hate. “I’m really enjoying my life. I’m having more fun, I’ve started travelling to Europe, which I never had an interest in – I’m going to Normandy this year,” he said. “I’m going to Normandy this year for which I’ve studied World War II for years, and I can’t wait to get to Normandy.”

To be more specific, travelling to Normandy was actually Bradshaw’s wife, Tammy Bradshaw’s idea. In Terry’s words, Tammy wrote a poem for him, and when he went through the poem, he found the word “Normandy” there. It’s more like Tammy’s way of telling him that they’re going to Normandy. “We’ve been to Rome twice and all over Italy. We’ve been all over Germany and Sweden, and I have gotten to where I really like that stuff because I love history and so… I want to do more of that before God calls me home,” he continued.

Sure, he desires to continue as an analyst with Fox for a couple of more years, maybe more. But it’s safe to say that Bradshaw has a great retirement plan ahead.
