Tom Brady’s retirement looks as captivating as when he took charge of the gridiron. Now the TB12 makes a comeback in a Netflix show named The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, where athletes and comedians will mock him. This was not the end of Brady’s retirement ventures. The NFL GOAT’s latest Instagram post saw him joining Real Madrid’s celebration after the El Clasico triumph.

After this celebration, he received another jab from his best friend, Rob Gronkowski, who called him an “old man.” However, Brady surely will not take offense, as this joke comes from a friendship of 14 years.

Sharing a thread of pictures from the celebration, Brady posted a lengthy caption that started with“El Classico!! I’ve watched this match on television for many years and what a game it was last night. I am always grateful for moments like last night where I am able to watch others live their dream and come together as a team to accomplish lifelong goals…”

More than the pictures and Brady’s caption, Gronkowski immediately shot to limelight with his comment under the post that read, “Man 1st time I can say you look like a true business old guy and not one of the players.” Only after Gronkowski’s comment did fans notice a Birmingham City badge on Brady’s suit. The business angle has been referred to since the TB12 owns a minority share in the soccer club. The leg-pulling session reveals the close bond that Gronkowski shares with Brady.

The Brady-Gronk bond lasts more than a decade

Even though Gronkowski retired from the NFL in 2019, Brady encouraged him to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and play for the 2020-2021 season. The bond between the two players had been so strong that it propelled the Florida team to another Super Bowl win. Their camaraderie positively impacted the gridiron as they made 90 regular-season touchdowns jointly. This record made Brady and Gronkowski the second-best quarterback-receiver duo, just behind Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison.

However, a strategy prevailed, and Brady applied it in favor of his best friend. In the fourth quarter of Tampa Bay’s win over the Carolina Panthers, Gronkowski needed seven receptions and 52 receiving yards to earn an additional bonus of $1 million in that season. Brady refused to leave the game. Instead, he chose to stay back and helped Gronkowski reach the necessary 750 yards, which triggered a $500,000 bonus.

Besides the on-field success, they carried their chemistry off-field, playing pranks on one another. Hence, through this “old man” jab, Brady will take pride in his close bond with his best pal, continuing even years after their paths have diverted.
