Gisele Bündchen is known as a supermodel and recently as the author of a cookbook. But did you know the 43-year-old walked at the Rio Olympics eight years ago?

As Bündchen appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to promote her latest literary achievement, she revealed this lesser-known trivia about herself. The emotion and the tension she felt as she took part in the prestigious event — Tom Brady’s former wife shared it all.

Clarkson brought up Bündchen’s experience at the Rio Olympics. Despite ramp walking being her forte, the supermodel revealed how it had been challenging at the Maracanã Stadium: “I know, but not walking the entire Marac, this is like the longest. I don’t even know how many miles. I think it’s miles. I’m not sure, but when I was at one point and when I saw the end of it, I couldn’t even see the singer.”

Bündchen described the experience as “scary,” and fear began to take control of her. The tension was so great that it caused physical and emotional strain; she said, “It was nerve-wracking. I feel like my my my legs were like you know, like spaghetti legs. I’m like I’m not sure if I’m gonna make.” Her strut in the Rio Olympics was an important chapter in her marriage with Brady.

The Rio Olympics held a special place in the supermodel’s heart since she was born and raised in Brazil. As Bündchen strutted while walking down the ramp, she was exposed to heavy criticism from fans and haters alike. However, the TB12 took swift action and had been vocal about supporting his then-wife, Bündchen. Without directly replying to the critics, Brady congratulated her and ensured that she translated it into Portuguese so the native speakers could understand. “Gisele, words can’t describe how proud I was to watch you represent your country. I love you.”

Even though she had garnered a lot of hate for not being able to deliver her best during the catwalk, Bündchen focused on the positives that the event gifted her with. After the event, she took to social media and expressed her gratitude, “Everyone involved worked with dedication and passion to create a show that gave the world a glimpse of our history and Brazil’s essence.”

Despite the initial fear and blockage, Bündchen emerged from the experience unscathed. Still, with the same passion for embracing challenges, the supermodel and mother of two has embarked on a new path of accepting new challenges: writing a cookbook.
