While he faces a lot of flak from a lot of fanbases, there is no doubt that Durant has been one of the most dominant players in the league. However, he is also not without his own antics. He has been infamous in the sense of how he responds to trolls on the internet. Durant’s internet shenanigans have practically made him a meme. However, despite his problems on Twitter, Durant has found an unlikely defender in an NFL veteran.

Durant has a defender in Marcellus Wiley. Through his podcast, Wiley spoke about how Durant takes on a different approach in terms of dealing with his haters. Moreover, Wiley didn’t just defend Durant. He also went on to actively praise the way Durant handles his emotions and brings out motivation in them.

Durant has a very infamous reputation for replying in an abashed manner to any fan who insults him. From time to time, Twitter has seen the Slim Reaper go off on almost any random fan who came in the way. As his shenanigans gained a lot of attention this season, Wiley had a lot to say about Durant’s behavior, and surprisingly, a lot of it was positive.

Wiley explained on his podcast that he truly approved of the way Durant dealt with his haters. He was impressed with the kind of conviction the Slim Reaper had in defending his own reputation head-on. Wiley also spoke about his love for Durant’s ideology. He summarized it and mentioned how Durant brings out motivation through the kind of hate he receives from his haters.

Wiley also defended Durant’s choices that ran deeper than just the way he responds to his trolls. He defended one of the most controversial decisions Durant has made and spoke about how he shouldn’t be judged for his professional decisions.

While Durant might be slightly unpopular now, it wasn’t always like this. When he played for Oklahoma City Thunder, he was one of the most beloved players in the league. However, in the interest of winning a ring, Durant went on to take his talents to Golden State Warriors. While he had been ostracized for his actions, he went on to take his talents to different teams where he would be the last piece of the puzzle. Wiley went on to defend Durant’s actions. He spoke about how KD has been made a scapegoat for just wanting to bring some success in terms of winning a championship. Wiley said, “It comes to guys like KD. It seems like KD is the poster child for it all of a sudden we start to have a deviation from the norm.”

All in all, Wiley stood tall in terms of defending KD for the way he behaves in terms of his fans as well as his actions to join different teams. However, it only remains to be seen much Wiley’s defense for KD holds up in terms of the Slim Reaper’s actions in the upcoming season.
