The NFL Combine in Indianapolis is facing a problem. Per Bryan Perez’s reports, projected first-round QBs are just choosing to ‘skip’ throwing in the NFL combine. “By my count… Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels aren’t throwing at the NFL Combine. Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers aren’t running/working out. So… 5 of the likely top 6 picks won’t participate. Fun!” Perez wrote on X. Thus far, 8 players from the top players’ list have rejected the NFL scouting combine week.

Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, Johnathon Brooks, and Copper DeJean are the top names echoing through the analysts’ room for the NFL draft who rather stay in their universities to prepare for the NFL. The fresh reports from different universities suggest that players from across the Nation have already started the drills for the Pro-league.

Caleb Williams and Drake Maye’s NFL practice

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Caleb Williams working tough on the drills at the USC campus. In the video posted by Pelissero, Williams can be seen perfecting his throwing with former Broncos and Western Kentucky’s offense coordinator Rich Scangarello. Williams was also looking shredded in the video while working out. Seems that Scangarello would be leading Williams’s practices ahead of the NFL.

On the other hand, Drake Maye is also going hard on his NFL preparations at Alabama under the supervision of former Colts and Chargers player Philip Rivers. Rivers is teaching some good things or two to Maye, inspiring him and the other draft prospects along the way. Rivers have reportedly honed the team’s on-gridiron skills like preparation and longevity, along with brushing up their throwing skills. With the top prospects working their way to reach the top with their own universities, who would shine the brightest in the NFL?
