Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers must settle for the best to make a Super Bowl appearance. With them holding the fifth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, their eyes are set on two non-QB prospects. They’re the top two wide receiver prospects this year, and one of these two might find a home with Harbaugh in LA. 

While the Chargers debate their fifth-round choice, they’re also hit with another problem: the salary cap. With more than $20 million over the salary cap, it would pose difficulties for Jim Harbaugh to bring in high-value players. However, with rumors circulating about Mike Williams, hopefully, the salary cap issue won’t hinder the Chargers’ ambition to draft a highly rated WR. 

Jim Harbaugh might choose between Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers

According to a recent YouTube upload on Sports Talk Chargers, speculation is thrown on what Jim Harbaugh would choose as the potential first pick for the Chargers. The report states, “[The Chargers] have a chance at Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers.” Harrison Jr. is the top non-QB prospect entering the NFL Draft this season, with some sites even ranking him as the best overall prospect.

As for Malik Nabers, he might be the next favorite to land if Harrison Jr. is taken. Coming in as the No. 2 WR prospect behind Harrison Jr., the LSU standout is known for his speed on the field and impressive catching ability. He’s entering the pro league after recording 189 passes for 3,003 yards and 21 TDs in his three seasons at LSU. Now, the question is — what about the Chargers salary cap issue?

The Chargers likely to cut off Mike Williams

After tearing his ACL last season, Mike Williams sat out, with Keenan Allen as his replacement. The WR veteran, worth $32 million AAV, has consistently faced injuries and hasn’t played a full season since 2018. And there are already rumors that Jim Harbaugh may cut or trade him.
