After Disheartening Loss to Michigan, Ohio State Players Console Kyle McCord on the Way to Locker Room

Ohio State didn’t fare well under the solid performance of Michigan as they met for the 119th time at Michigan Stadium this Saturday. In what is another glorious consecutive win for the Wolverines, they defeated the Buckeyes 30-24. But it’s not to say it’s a lack of effort on the part of QB Kyle McCord who delivered a fantastic performance. Fans and teammates showed their love and support toward the QB despite the loss. 

The hype about the last rivalry game is that both Michigan and Ohio State are the top two teams in college football. After all, it was deemed the greatest North American sports rivalry in 2000 according to ESPN, and hype remains. The last defeat marks Michigan’s third season winning streak as they secured a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game.

It’s a sad time for Ohio State fans as they lose another game to Michigan on Saturday. Ohio State QB Kyle McCord delivered his best performance in the last game but his team fell short of winning. As they headed back to the locker room after the game, McCord was consoled on the loss by teammates as fans jumped in from the stands to show their love and appreciation for their team. 

Kyle McCord got his left leg pinned on a sack during the last game against Michigan during the first half of the game. But he finished the game with 271 passing yards and two touchdowns. The last victory marks Ohio State’s third consecutive loss against Michigan in their 119 meetings. Now as the Buckeyes face their first great, Michigan will face the No. 17 Iowa in their next Big Ten Championship game.

Ohio State falls behind Michigan in The Game

As one of the most intense college football rivalries, the Michigan-Ohio State football rivalry just witnessed a new episode of their rivalry that first sparked in 1897. The Buckeyes came into the game undefeated hoping to put an end to their winning streak, especially with the Michigan team already under immense pressure due to Coach Jim Harbaugh’s suspension.

However, their hopes were shattered. As Ohio State suffers their first season defeat falling in a narrow loss against Michigan, the Wolverines secure a championship game spot as they win the rivalry game for the third time in a row. Now they lead the all-time rivalry series with 61 wins, 51 losses, and 6 ties following their last game.

Hopefully, Ohio State will be able to counter their consecutive losing streak when they meet at their home field next season. But for now, as Ohio State recovers from this one blemish on their overall record, Michigan moves ahead to their next game in Indianapolis.
