Deion Sanders, the coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, is under fire for a recent controversy about his coaching methods. The 56-year-old NFL Hall of Famer has been in the headlines ever since he signed a 5-year contract with the Buffs this season. He’s brought newfound fame to the club with his influence but his team’s performance hasn’t been the best so far.

The Colorado Buffaloes faced off against the UCLA Bruins in their latest match. The Buffs were looking to make a comeback after a string of disappointing performances. Unfortunately, things didn’t go their way as Shilo Sanders’ controversial exit caused a major impact on the Buffs’ defense. This led to all the pressure of the match resting on Shedeur Sanders, the QB for the Buffs. As he tried to make the passes, his team failed to protect him which in turn led to him being hit a total of 17 times. The intense test of physical endurance was heavily criticized by the fans as the tactics of Coach Prime were severely doubted. Thus, this led to Jason Whitlock giving his harsh opinion on the 2-time Super Bowl winner.

In the latest episode of the Jason Whitlock show, he talks about the toxicities that are apparent in Coach Prime’s coaching methods. He talks about how Shedeur was made to perform under brutal stress but no one’s allowed to question Deion because he’s black. Whitlock’s entire conversation revolved around the fact that black players aren’t often criticized because if they are, it is considered wildly racist.

He said, “Deion Sanders is putting on a coaching malpractice clinic and no one is allowed to talk about it, criticize him or correct him because he’s black.” The conversation further led to how Deion blamed the offensive linemen of his team for the loss against UCLA. Whitlock said that he is partial toward his son Shedeur and not the offensive linemen and thus, they would not lay their hearts on the line for neither Shedeur nor Deion. While Coach Prime has played the blame game for the match against UCLA, it will be interesting to see what game he plays when the Buffs will face against Oregon State.

How important is the match against Oregon for the Colorado Buffaloes?

The Buffaloes are on the verge of being out of the championship race. Coach Prime’s team is currently standing on a 4-4 record. With not a lot of games left for this season, the Sanders men will have a lot riding on their next match with Oregon State. If they’re able to secure a win, they might still have a chance to make a comeback in the NCAA.

The Buffaloes had a blast start to the season when they were able to win 3 consecutive games straight. Coach Prime was able to establish himself as one of the most popular coaches and soon became one of the favorites for the cup. But after a devastating loss at the hands of the Oregon Ducks by a score of 42-6, they gave way to their downfall. They haven’t been able to secure a win since their mediocre victory against the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Buffaloes will need to sharpen their horns as they try to climb back into the ring of the NCAA.
