Their journey with the Michigan Wolverines has been as special for the quarterback J.J. McCarthy as his girlfriend, Katya Kuropas. Now that the final bell for the NFL Draft has rang, their time at the Ann Arbor has officially come to an end. This has left the NFL Draft prospect’s fiancée all emotional. Taking to Instagram, she shared a thread of pictures reminiscing the best times she had spent in Michigan accompanying McCarthy.

The Wolverines have been with McCarthy through thick and thin. The program witnessed the high school love birds from Nazareth Academy, Illinois take an important step ahead in their relationship. Being McCarthy’s biggest supporter Kuropas has been a mainstay in the arena. Hence, like the quarterback, she too considered the Wolverines program as her second home.

Now that McCarthy has cut ties with college football, it’s time for Kuropas to share her thoughts. She wrote a long emotional note that reverberates with nothing but gratitude. Earlier it was the quarterback who poured emotions into eight words for his former program. The caption of the post read, “Extremely delayed but… Reminiscing on how amazing this past season was. An abundance of blessings and the best memories. Feeling so grateful for everything that unfolded & for everyone that was part of it!! Sad to see this chapter go, but excited for the next one”.

Kuropas has stayed all through as McCarthy rose to success since he joined the Wolverines in 2020. From beating the Washington Huskies and bringing Michigan its first national championship win since 1997 to right after proposing to her in January, Wolverines and Kuropas have been the two loves of the quarterback’s life. Besides, the honors, McCarthy has picked up some deep bonds with his teammates as well.

McCarthy found himself to be lucky at Michigan

Back at Jim Harbaugh’s program, McCarthy had been part of a much-celebrated trio featuring himself, wide receiver Andrel Anthony Jr. and running back, Donovan Edwards. Like McCarthy, Anthony Jr.’s time with the Wolverines has come to an end. As the wide receiver made his way to the Oklahoma Sooners, sharing a picture of three of them he wrote, “nobody im more proud of than these 2.. yall took that feeling we were left w after this game, & used that to drive yall. 2 AM in indoor running routes after games . i love yall, my brothers for life”. Missing their camaraderie, an emotional McCarthy re-shared the post with the caption, “4 life my brudda Go be great king”.

Besides being lucky on the bonds, McCarthy reached the top as far as his winning percentage was concerned. Being in a supportive environment paired up with implementing his talent, he amassed the best winning percentage of any quarterback in the last 10 seasons with a minimum of 20 starts.

Hence, Ann Harbor has given McCarthy and his girlfriend more than what they had hoped for. Now that he steps into a big role within days, the couple will be carrying all the good memories they have picked up so far with the Wolverines in their journey ahead.
