Till the EA Sports College Football 25 dropped its cover, all seemed to be going well between Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. The cover then appeared to be the plot twist, as the Buffs two-way phenom replaced their quarterback sensation and rose to the spotlight, becoming the only Buffs face on the video game cover.

So far, it was going low on the Sanders-Hunter bond. But EA College Football’s rating dropped as a truth bomb as fans started to sing in Hunter’s praise.

Hunter’s overtake competitors in latest rankings

A few days back, as put forward by EA Sports, Travis Hunter was one of the top 3 highest-rated players. But their latest post confirmed that he has secured the top position beating others. As tweeted by Life and Football, “Highest RATED PLAYER in @EASPORTSCollege 25 Colorado’s TRAVIS HUNTER”

According to the projection, the two-way star will have a 98 overall rating. The anticipated high ratings will be on multiple criteria including awareness, zone coverage and tackling. Going by Hunter’s records, he stands out in catching and route-running too. Plus, his high rating must be the cause of his massive win for Colorado since he had been the first Buffs player to feature on the EA College Football cover.

CBS Sports’ college football analyst Blake Brockermeyer, also holds high hopes for the 2023 Paul Hornung Award winner, “(Hunter) is a generational player and, if he took fewer snaps offensively at wide receiver, would be even more effective for Colorado’s defense.” Besides the big shots, the common mass too seems to be basking in the Hunter fever.

Fans pour in to celebrate Hunter’s well-deserved success

Now that Hunter has claimed Shedeur’s limelight, the possibility runs high that he might land before Deion Sanders’ son in the 2025 NFL draft as well. However, while the fans are celebrating Hunter’s latest milestone, they are not surprised since it was expected from the Colorado dual threat.

One fan’s comment reiterated how it has been a noted fact that Hunter will find the top spot since he has to do one of the most challenging tasks to evolve in both ways, “Makes sense since you have to average in his skills on both sides of the ball”. Another fan simply exclaimed, “THAT DUDE” followed by ‘fire’ and ‘100’ emoji showing his admiration for Hunter’s prowess.

Justifying his dual-threat abilities, “As he should be”, read another fan’s comment who affirmed his status to be well-deserved. While another user’s reaction stood out as he chose to use two contradictory words- ‘average’ and ‘best’ for Hunter’s latest achievement, “Dude was average at best”.

While it has been speculated that a cold undercurrent floated through the Shedeur-Travis dynamics, the quarterback later congratulated Hunter on his achievement with his ‘Perfect Timing’ comment. It is now to be seen how Deion Sanders’ son reacts to his brother from another mother’s ranking as the top Colorado player.
