Welcome to the Caleb Williams era! It was a star-studded evening when the shiny new ‘Hollywood’ QB of the Chicago Bears strode confidently into his new territory, with his mysterious rumored girlfriend, Alina Thyregod, clad in an equally studded silver dress by his side. Fans across the internet swarmed X with congratulatory messages, not only for Williams but also for the Bears as they saw that fine line of hope streaming in their locker room.

The Caleb Williams-Rome Odunze pair brought in several sky-high expectations from the franchise, one being some massive on-field action this season. Along with that, however, came concerns surrounding Williams’ capabilities at the flipped side of the coin. A fresh-out-of-college QB handling the reins of a whole franchise in the pro league, along with re-establishing them among the top seeds and bringing their scores back with the top ones on the scoreboard; there’s a lot of work Williams has to do. Especially when Justin Fields has just left as the Bears QB, leaving some major shoes for Williams to fill. Will he be able to do it all?

ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption co-host Michael Wilbon is at ease about it and thinks the fans should be at ease as well. “We’re past that now. Get over that part,” advised Wilbon. Adding the reason for it, Wilbon said, “This is the most excited I’ve been and because it’s more than just Caleb. Because of the whole package of Keenan Allen getting traded in already. Having a great wide receiver on hand and DJ Moore and then drafting Caleb and Odunze for me it’s the most excited I’ve been since since Derrick Rose.”

The reason for Williams differing from Wilbon? “It just feels all of it is being done the right way and it’s just kind of all fallen into place. Now they’ve got to execute. Now they got to develop the quarterback and now they got to deliver,” Wilson added in the ESPN Chicago broadcast. With all the hype created around Caleb Williams as the Bears QB, the NFL world is already foreseeing some major accolades coming his way.

Caleb Williams an early favorite for Rookie of the Year

With the hype created around Caleb Williams, with his exposure to the arsenal of weapon WRs like Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and D’ Andre Swift. With all this, Bears Wire reported the likeness of Williams winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Along with him, the overall pick No. 9 Odunze is also on the list of winning the award this season.

However, Williams also has Michael Penix Jr., Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and JJ McCarthy posing as the ultimate threats to Williams winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Only the on-field performance of the Bears QB can decide who will win the award.
