Alabama football continues to make waves in the recruiting world as it secures its second Class of 2024 commitment. A 4-star edge prospect, Noah Carter recently announced his commitment to Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama via his Twitter account. However, this declaration came at the expense of another football program.

Initially, Carter had signed his national letter of intent with the Washington Huskies in December. But now, the promising edge rusher and former husky recruit will be donning the crimson colors of Alabama. His move can also be credited to DeBoer who cut ties with Washington and entered Alabama after Nick Saban’s retirement.

With the Huskies, Carter totaled 55 tackles and 11 sacks for Centennial last season. However, despite his connection with Washington, he joined in the transfer portal followed by Dominic Kirks, the defensive tackle and linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale. Channeling the influence of DeBoer, Carter is all set to join Alabama and projects himself as a player capable of making an immediate impact in the Power Five arena.

Alabama fans can expect to see Carter claiming hold at the Wolf position, previously known as Sam in Coach Saban’s defense. Manned by Dallas Turner last season, this position demands a unique blend of skills. Carter seems to have a good prospect of being a multi-dimensional player. On the defensive end, he acquired an impressive record of 55 tackles and 11 sacks. Correspondingly, switching gears to offense, Carter engraved his name with 32 receptions for 677 yards and eight touchdowns.

Even before Carter, the Huskies had already lost another promising edge rusher, Keona Wilhite. Carter’s commitment to Alabama adds a dynamic and versatile player to the Crimson Tide’s roster. His story serves as a microcosm of the strategic moves and unexpected turns that define the pursuit of excellence in collegiate athletics.
