Williams has decided to forgo his remaining college football eligibility and enter the prestigious league. Caleb Williams’ journey so far

Williams took to Instagram and shared an emotional post sharing a heartfelt reflection on his football journey. His words reverberated his resilience and passion towards the game as he wrote, No matter what lies ahead, I will Fight On forever and rep Hornsdown4Life.” He emphasized that this declaration marks not the end but the beginning of a new journey.

With over 10,000 passing yards across three seasons, the QB has showcased his extraordinary arm talent, athleticism, and creativity on the field. It was back in 2021, that his journey in the NCAA commenced with Oklahoma. From there, as a true freshman, he swiftly rose to glory after gifting a game-changer victory against Texas.

The year 2022 marked a new chapter for Williams’ journey as he got transferred to USC under the guidance of head coach Lincoln Riley. Under his leadership, the Trojans grabbed an impressive 11-3 campaign. However, the 2023 season has been tough for him and the Trojans with a disappointing 7-5 campaign that concluded with a loss to rival UCLA. Hence, all the attention is seized on his potential as he declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

NFL Draft breakdown

As per the 2024 Draft, the Chicago Bears hold the first overall pick. However, Williams’ chance to tread into the Bears’ squad remains nil with the recent statement of the team GM Ryan Poles. Poles said the team is in “information gathering mode” for Williams’ recruitment. Hence, it adds an element of speculation, especially due to the presence of QB Justin Fields on the Bears roster.

In the meanwhile, the Washington Commanders who hold the No.2 overall pick are expected to prioritize a QB in the upcoming Draft. With a new regime, his skills and potential make the former Oklahoma and USC QB a top prospect.

On the other hand, with the departure of Tom Brady, the New England Patriots have been seeking a successor. Selecting Caleb Williams could be a strategic move in the post-Brady era. Being at position 3 in the NFL Draft, the Patriots’ move relies on the Bears and the Commanders.
