Caleb Williams’ appearance in March Madness has gained much negative light after the USC Trojans quarterback was spotted flaunting pink nails and phone case in the stands. However, this time, it is all positive for Williams as he chooses to rally in support of the University of Connecticut’s young basketball player, Paige Bueckers.

Even though JuJu Watkins has been the talk of the town, Bueckers caught the attention of the No. 1 draft prospect. She recorded 24 points to lead third-seeded UConn and its roster back to Elite 8. All that Williams does is shower the women’s basketball athlete with best wishes and praise as she leads her team to victory.

Williams glorifies Bueckers’ talent

Like many, Williams could anticipate the impact with which Bueckers was about to claim charge of the court. The quarterback’s organization, Caleb Cares, shared a picture of Williams posing a victory sign with Bueckers with the caption, “GOOD LUCK IN THE ELITE EIGHT!” which the quarterback later re-shared as a story from his official account. 

Bueckers evolved as the best player on the court, propelling UConn to the top of the women’s NCAA Tournament with a 53-45 victory over No. 7 seed Duke. Williams seemed to have been thoroughly impressed by her resilience in hitting the floor after being limited by injuries. She had been sidelined for the past two seasons yet emerged victorious. This comeback could not miss Williams’ attention, who, in his Instagram story, posted a boomerang of Bueckers with the caption “GOAT. @PAIGEBUECKERS.” Even though Watkins has not been lucky enough to get featured in the quarterback’s tweets, things have been different for another young basketball talent, Caitlin Clark.

Being an ardent follower of March Madness and thrilled by the action between the No. 3 seeded LSU Tigers and No. 1 seeded Iowa Hawkeyes, Williams has firmly believed in excellence. The contest’s star has been Clark, who holds a NIL value worth $3.1 million. Besides her NIL worth, the basketball prodigy enthralled the Trojans quarterback after she nailed a deep 3-pointer as the Hawkeyes guard.

Taking to X, Williams, without taking Clark’s name, wrote, “She just pulled from logo.” Clark continued with her rage as the quarterback made two consecutive tweets, one in reply to his former USC teammate, Calen Bullock. She posted 37 points along with 11 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals, helping the Hawkeyes to an 84-74 lead over LSU.

Clark has got a competitor now. With Bueckers evolving as the newest talent, Caleb Williams cannot help but be all over Bueckers on his social media. Even though the ultimate result still awaits, it is to be seen who has the final laugh, Bueckers or Watkins.
